G-I Circa 200 Bhp N-A Gti6 Engine - welshpug - 16-12-2015

Have seen something alternative that interests me engine wise, so gauging interest in my ZX's current engine.

Its a 98 306 gti6 engine, circa 90k miles.

modifications are +1mm enlarged valve cutouts done by bridgecrfaft engineering and Newmans PH2 camshafts, other parts replaced whilst installing the cams and pistons was an o.e peugeot HG, valve stem seals, big end bearings and piston rings.

On a std inlet and ecu it made 177 Flywheel bhp on saxon motorsports RR, make what you will of that lol    on a satchell inlet and jenveys it was difficult to get a wheel figure due to grip issues, but it was high 170's wheel power.

Engine has recently had water pump and timing belt and service, plugs etc.

As its in a ZX it will go straight into a 306, or if you already have a gti6 in your 205 swap your bits over to this one.

Thinking around the £600 mark.

jenveys ecu etc obviously not included.

How much extra would you charge to install ?

RE: G-I Circa 200 Bhp N-A Gti6 Engine - welshpug - 16-12-2015

depends what it would be going into and if parts were supplied.

have you ever been on srd's rollers? no? ..........

RE: G-I Circa 200 Bhp N-A Gti6 Engine - welshpug - 19-12-2015

yeah, old road tyres and an old set of rollers mean a full power run is tricky.

provisionally soldm

RE: G-I Circa 200 Bhp N-A Gti6 Engine - welshpug - 20-12-2015

theyre not into willy waving and power runs, they just map and build winning engines.

Its interesting that they have such problems with traction on there Dyno, I have read that before and wondered what the cause is...Do they have modern DAQ on it or just the old analog system? Iirc they use a Sun Ram 12...which has the same diameter rolls as my Ram 11, and same smooth finish...yet im able to test more power than that without issues, and generally diesels which cause much bigger issues with slip due to lots of torque at low roll speeds... And that is without pulling down front strap hard for grip...

I wonder if they still use analog dials / are limited to using low gears to stay within the hardware capability? If not it is strange....I mean I could happily hold back 220hp steady state on the clayton, and that was tiny 8.5" rolls with smooth finish, and very large roller spacing taking weight off the front roller, so its a bit of a mystery to me.... Would imagine they could justify pulling front roller out for knurling if there having issues like that? Or a DAQ upgrade if its that causing them the problem?

Not having a dig at all by the way at there setup as we all know they know what there doing, its just interesting to me to see what the cause of the issue is, as IMO testing a 200hp GTI6 engine should be no problem at all for that dyno...

RE: G-I Circa 200 Bhp N-A Gti6 Engine - fatlapit - 20-12-2015

Well obviously sandy couldnt map mine properly

RE: G-I Circa 200 Bhp N-A Gti6 Engine - Paul_13 - 20-12-2015

Sandy brown is well respected in the Peugeot tuning community, he has built several race winning engines.
I've personally been out in cars be has mapped and he does a very good job.

Not just Peugeot, he's mapped vauxhall ford bmw Millingtons probably more.
