Its the cleanest 306 i've seen in a long time RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - mr_fish - 12-11-2015 When is the bigger snail going on? Actually been using it as a winter hack and resting the Volvo, put 3k miles on it so far. I got a set of Conti winter tyres in 185 60 15 fitted, they were a bit of a squeeze to fit! But they've been great in the wet and more comfortable than the 195 50's that were fitted. This is making a trip down to Lobbland tomorrow RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - JTaylor2005 - 29-12-2015 What happens down at lobbland? I have heard a lot of 306 stuff happens down there haha RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Toms306 - 30-12-2015 What happens at Lobbland, stays at Lobbland... RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Anton - 24-01-2016 Evening... Not a very good update after being down in Lobbland. Darren might update this better than me as he has pictures. But it's got a lot of loving thanks to Darren! Hopefully back in my possession soon ☺. RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - darrenjlobb - 20-03-2016 Was meant to update this back along, but forgot! So Anton bought it down for a new exhaust, but after getting underneath it found quite a few more issues than just that...After doing very little poking, the below issue was discovered: So decided some immediate action was required as the rot was in a seriously bad state just here....So started out but cutting out just about everything left of the chassis member, and also up a fair way into one of the wheel archs (both sides are gone): Then got to work plating / welding it all up, stronger / thicker than factory as ever: And splash of primer, paint and then underseal: Also noticed the brake lines were in a dangerously bad state, so replaced them from the front of the tank back...The lines literally broke into 4-5 pieces as I removed them, they were so rotton I have no idea how they hadn't already failed! And also lasting fitted a new 2.5" all stainless winpipe: Car now back with Anton in a better mood than when it arrived! Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - bashbarnard - 20-03-2016 God the heck thats some bad rust. Need to clean and underseal both our rust free ones asap really preferably this summer. Nice bit of welding that specially with the plate making. RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Dum-Dum - 20-03-2016 That is some impressive rust. I get the feeling that over the next few years this forum is gonna look like a ford forum with all the body welding that gonna be going on. RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Piggy - 21-03-2016 It is a bit worrying I have to admit... Other than usual rear arches... These used to have a rep for not rusting! RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Toms306 - 21-03-2016 Its nothing new, they've been rusting sills and chassis rails for a few years now! Old cars all rust eventually though, particularly with the salty damp roads over here, not sure why this is a surprise. RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Anton - 22-06-2016 Thanks for the update Darren! Win pipe is well win. Haha This hasn't been used much lately, too busy driving Volvos. #familylife RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Eeyore - 22-06-2016 wow that rust is horrendous! D: RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Ruan - 22-06-2016 Bet you a lot of 306s are like it, just nobody actually pokes around under the underseal to reveal quite how bad it is! The underseal sadly just covers it up and holds any moisture against the metal and lets it rot from the inside out. RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Anton - 08-11-2016 This is now the daily workhorse. Bits done: New cambelt/waterpump and tensioners New Aux tensioners and belt New ABS sensor GTI6 Front brakes Continentals in the original 55 profile RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - MY95 - 08-11-2016 Moar pics needed, sounds good though, getting rare now are 3dr D Turbos! RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Anton - 09-11-2016 Yeah getting harder to find now. So worth fixing up in my opinion. I'll try and grab some pics but essentially a standard 306 on the outside lol, apart from the 2.5 inch straight through and GTI6 brakes RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Piggy - 09-11-2016 Nice to drive this, nice touches like the boot liner etc. Duno why exhaust is so boomy though. Weird ressonance. Whats with your mahooosive siggy btw? RE: Peugeot 306 HDI D TURBO - Anton - 19-05-2017 This is potentially for sale if anyone's interested?
