xud in to gti6 - maxlee - 10-11-2015

hi guys

is the plug/loom in the car the same on all 306's so i can just plug the xud engine loom in to it and all will be ok?

i did look through 10 pages of this part of the forum before asking  Blush  just wanted to check why i still have the xud 306 kicking about before it goes to scrap  ThumbsUp  and saves me testing all the pins on both cars

Youll have to change the dash loom aswell iirc

RE: xud in to gti6 - welshpug - 10-11-2015

you never need to change the dash loom.

RE: xud in to gti6 - bashbarnard - 10-11-2015

someone done this not that long ago. cant remember who though. think it was a phase 3 gti6 plugged in phase 2 derv dash clocks and pickup and you are away

Ph2 loom from under the wiper motor right to the engine, ph2 dt clocks, diesel filler neck, diesel fuel line (in only) and in tamk pump job done Smile

RE: xud in to gti6 - welshpug - 11-11-2015

nope, you dont change that bit either, you only need to change the engine loom.

Mans right

RE: xud in to gti6 - mr_fish - 11-11-2015

Ruan did it to The Nanstone

RE: xud in to gti6 - td_dan - 11-11-2015

Wrong you have trouble getting the revs to work hence changing the loom from chassis leg to wiper motor to cure it i did it to a ph3 nile gti6

RE: xud in to gti6 - welshpug - 11-11-2015

not wrong, i have a ph3 gti6 engine in a zx, I only changed the engine loom and the plug on the end of it.

i also put a v6 into a rallye, same again, changed the plugs on the end of the loom to suit.

RE: xud in to gti6 - maxlee - 11-11-2015

so leave the car loom as it is and just plug the xud engine loom in to it and change the clocks?

bit confused thank for all the replys tho Smile be getting this done next week once work out whats what

RE: xud in to gti6 - bashbarnard - 11-11-2015

Yeah essentially. Also need the tank pickup you dont want to run the lift pump.

RE: xud in to gti6 - maxlee - 12-11-2015

thanks mate Smile

i've done the tank and used 10mm pipe and 8 return
also the filler is different i think so swapped that out
