oh bugger - gazthegnome - 01-10-2015

been away and the battery went flat on the car only ever opened with central locking as the key dont work on the doors any ideas on how i get the doors to unlock ?

RE: oh bugger - Paul_13 - 01-10-2015

Might be able to lie underneath and pop the bonnet. Possible on 205's, I know a 306 engine bay is tighter

RE: oh bugger - Redordead89 - 01-10-2015

Or if you cant get the bonnet open get someone with super skinny long arms to try get jump leads on the battery

RE: oh bugger - Paul_13 - 01-10-2015

Good point, or on the starter may be easier to get to

What engine is it?

RE: oh bugger - welshpug - 01-10-2015

depends which engine and equipment, I have managed to pull the cable on a non ac dt, I doubt its possible on anything xu/xud/dw with ac.

battery live is easier to get to than starter on most.

I can pull my bonnet cable no problem, worth a shot!

RE: oh bugger - Toms306 - 01-10-2015

Bit of 'penetrant' in the key barrels maybe easier?

RE: oh bugger - andyyy - 01-10-2015

Could try using string or coat hanger. I know you said the key doesn't work on the doors but does it work on the boot ?

RE: oh bugger - Redordead89 - 01-10-2015

Graphite lock lube for your door barrel! Don't use WD40!!!!!
Check your key battery if no joy with all of the above???

RE: oh bugger - RetroPug - 01-10-2015

If you absolutely can't get anywhere using one of the easier, less time-consuming methods suggested you could take the front bumper off and then access the bonnet catch that way.

RE: oh bugger - highwayman306 - 02-10-2015

Failing all of those suggestions.................

RE: oh bugger - Poodle - 02-10-2015

These are depressingly easy to break in to, will send you a pm.

RE: oh bugger - Jonny81191 - 02-10-2015

Just dive under and jump it from the alternator
