Can Ph3 gti6 clocks be used in a Ph1 gti6? Need to see if my clocks are at fault

RE: Ph3 clocks in Ph1? - Frosty - 23-09-2015

Im pretty sure the plugs are different. Ph2 and 3 are the same but ph1 is different, think they have about 4/5 plugs on them

Nah, ph1 has different plugs and not sure but isnt ph1 speed drive cable? I know the xud is

RE: Ph3 clocks in Ph1? - 1616six - 23-09-2015

Got a feeling they used both but I might be wrong, being a later Ph1 I guess it's more likely to be electronic but it had crossed my mind whilst I read this having my morning poo.

RE: Ph3 clocks in Ph1? - Mattcheese31 - 23-09-2015

Cable drive is only the really early ones K and maybe L reg, plugs are different anyway I think Smile

RE: Ph3 clocks in Ph1? - Stef205 - 23-09-2015

according to autodata phase 1 has 2 plugs and phase 2/3 has 3 plugs could be wrong tho

RE: Ph3 clocks in Ph1? - Nathan1305 - 23-09-2015

Yeah it's electronic speedo. My DT is phase 2. Could that work just to test if the fuel and temp work?

My s16 was cable drive and that was a M reg

Phase 3 only has 2 plugs iirc. One yellow, one blue, both at the top.

RE: Ph3 clocks in Ph1? - Nathan1305 - 23-09-2015

Do they have 4 plugs?

RE: Ph3 clocks in Ph1? - Matt-Rallye - 23-09-2015

Unsure as they are still in the scrap 6 currently. should be out later Smile

how does it work with the digital mileage on ph2/3's and analogue on ph1?

EDIT: on a side note all your plastics and belts are out & ready Big Grin

RE: Ph3 clocks in Ph1? - maxzy - 23-09-2015

PH2 & 3 can be directly swap without any problems (Yellow & Blue).

But Ph 1 as I can remember plug are difference.

They have different gauges on them as well.

Have you examined the engine loom under the front bumper?
