Seafoam - Davidwheaty - 19-09-2015 Got a 1.8 16v and a can of sea foam. Anyone done it on theres? 15 year old car on 82,000 so probably has a fair carbon build up. RE: Seafoam - r3k1355 - 19-09-2015 Seen a couple of videos on Youtube, it seems to work pretty well. You got the standard can or the aerosol one?? RE: Seafoam - Davidwheaty - 19-09-2015 Sisters other half did it on his subaru and it made a noticable difference. And its the normal can. RE: Seafoam - r3k1355 - 19-09-2015 Just be careful with the normal can, you've gotta add it at a steady rate to avoid hydrolocking the cylinders. The instructions say to ram that last 1/4 can in all at once to stall out the engine and wash out the back of the inlet valves. Personally I don't fancy that, and it's not something you'd do with the aerosol can version. RE: Seafoam - Davidwheaty - 19-09-2015 Yeah read about doing that, not something i want to if im honest ahahah, heard if you use a football pump valve it works well because it doesnt suck to much in. |
