DW10 Bolt Torque specs - tigerstyle - 08-09-2015 I've seen previously someone posted a big list (from Autodata?) on the bolt torque specs across the DW10/306. I'm doing my belts and clutch soon, and looking for guides on these figures, does anyone have the specs?
RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - tigerstyle - 09-09-2015 Do we normally go for everything just nipped up tight then? RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - Frosty - 09-09-2015 All of what you have listed i would usually do up tight by feel but here is hopefully all you'll need from auto data Cylinder head instructions : Autodata NoteIllustration Cylinder head Maximum bolt length: 133,4 mm Tighten: 20 Nm Tighten: 60 Nm Tighten: 110° Tighten: 110° Other engine tightening torques Main bearings Renew bolts/nuts: No Main bearings Stage 1: 25 Nm Main bearings Stage 2: 60° Big end bearings Renew bolts/nuts: Yes Big end bearings Stage 1: 20 Nm Big end bearings Stage 2: 70° Oil pump to cylinder block : 16 Nm Sump bolts : 16 Nm Sump drain bolt : 34 Nm Flywheel/driveplate : 48 Nm Autodata Note Clutch pressure plate : 20 Nm Crankshaft pulley/damper centre bolt : 70 Nm+62° Autodata Note Camshaft sprocket/gear : Autodata Note Camshaft carrier/cap : 10 Nm Camshaft/rocker cover : 10 Nm Inlet manifold to cylinder head : 23 Nm Exhaust manifold to cylinder head : 30 Nm Injector/clamp : 30 Nm Injector pipe unions : 20 Nm Fuel/injection pump sprocket/gear : 50 Nm Fuel/injection pump flange : 20 Nm Fuel/injection pump mounting : 23 Nm Glow plugs : 10 Nm Engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor : 17 Nm Engine oil pressure switch : 30 Nm Chassis tightening torques Front hub : 325 Nm Rear hub : 185 Nm Autodata Note Steering track rod end : 35 Nm Brake caliper to carrier Front: 30 Nm Brake caliper/carrier to hub Front: 110 Nm Brake caliper/carrier to hub Rear: 120 Nm Back plate to hub Rear: 40 Nm ABS sensor Front: 10 Nm ABS sensor Rear: 10 Nm Road wheels : 100 Nm Autodata Note RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - tigerstyle - 09-09-2015 Good list thank you, but misses the obvious ones like waterpump and pinch bolts? Maybe the spec for them just isn't out there... RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - Piggy - 10-09-2015 I've never torque checked water pump bolts... Be amazed if you got a torque wrench down there! RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - Toms306 - 10-09-2015 Waterpump was 11Nm iirc, its all in the Haynes! You don't want to warp the WP and have it leak so I'd always torque stuff like that - and did fit the torque wrench in. RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - welshpug - 10-09-2015 ![]() DW10 Bolt Torque specs - Frosty - 10-09-2015 Just do the water pump and pinch bolts to how they feel tight. That's what I always do and expect most others do RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - mr_fish - 10-09-2015 If in doubt , torque to FT. RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - tigerstyle - 10-09-2015 Hence posting here to get some specs, I don't have a Haynes, have often found them inadequate for most jobs and prefer forums for queries like this. So if you can post up a few specs from the relevant chapters welshpug or if they happen to be online anywhere...??? RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - Toms306 - 10-09-2015 Just buy a 2nd hand one lol, all the torques you need for a job are on one page that you can keep next to you, no running in to the computer etc. RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - steve1001 - 10-09-2015 Wheel Bolts:- Autodata 100Nm Haynes 85Nm So who do I believe? Surely if you own a 306 you have a Haynes! Steve RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - welshpug - 10-09-2015 autodata says 85 for wheel bolts. At the top of this thread, Frosty is saying Autodata 100Nm. Can you tell me where and how I can get access to the Autodata information? Thanks. Steve RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - welshpug - 11-09-2015 you buy it, or get a hooky copy. my autodata says 85. ![]() RE: DW10 Bolt Torque specs - steve1001 - 11-09-2015 (11-09-2015, 08:59 AM)welshpug Wrote: you buy it, or get a hooky copy. Thanks Welshpug. Now there is some nice bedtime reading! Crikey, I just looked into Autodata (that I have never heard of before) and it's £477 for a year . Pass me my Haynes manual. ![]() Steve |
