The new HDi daily - Jonny81191 - 07-09-2015 As many of you will know, I sold my cabby recently. I really didn't want to let it go, but I needed something with more doors, more boot and more roof. Also, and most importantly, it needed to be a HDi. After a few weeks searching, I found this! China blue phase 3, standard Meridian spec that according to the ad required nothing doing. The owner even offered me a lift from Southampton to Gloucester to collect it! It turns out that it had been modified by a toyota tuning specialist, who had grafted an XUD intercooler on and mapped it to stage 1, then thrown a helix fast road clutch with stage 3 pressure plate at it just to be sure it wouldn't slip! I'll be chucking some B4's on the front as there's a knock from the N/S shock, and I've nicked the brakes from the cabby but otherwise it's currently being a good daily driver. Took me and my girlfriend up to Scotland and back the other week without skipping a beat and is consistently getting 50MPG or so. There's a bit of a hesitation under part throttle, so I'll plug it in at some point but I suspect it's probably the map as it seems to drive like a tuning box, lots of coal off boost and I've had faster stage 1's TBH. However, it'll soon be much less reliable as I'm going to tune the f*ck out of it! Just need to help Poodle get his twin turbo beastie on the road, then we'll be bolting on some snails and adding more fuel RE: The new HDi daily - MY95 - 08-09-2015 Eventually Glad to see its doing you well though! Looking forward to updates as usual and looking forward to seeing your developments with this one RE: The new HDi daily - bashbarnard - 08-09-2015 Lets have a pic of the engine and cooler setup then. Will be interesting to see. RE: The new HDi daily - Niall - 08-09-2015 Can't help your self but Modify things can you RE: The new HDi daily - Jonny81191 - 08-09-2015 (08-09-2015, 06:40 AM)bashbarnard Wrote: Lets have a pic of the engine and cooler setup then. RE: The new HDi daily - Mattcheese31 - 08-09-2015 Looks tidy mate, 5dr ftw anyway as you know, nice of him to do the clutch ready for you, has he grafted a top mount on then? RE: The new HDi daily - Jonny81191 - 08-09-2015 Picture of the engine bay, it's quite a tidy setup tbh. RE: The new HDi daily - Toms306 - 08-09-2015 Without the bonnet 'carpet' from an XUD or a scoop how can a TMIC be efficient? China Meridian FTW btw. RE: The new HDi daily - MY95 - 08-09-2015 Interesting, why a TMIC over FMIC Jonny? TMIC would be a lot easier to route up but supposedly not as efficient as an FMIC ive heard. RE: The new HDi daily - Mattcheese31 - 08-09-2015 Yeah bit silly but probs better than standard RE: The new HDi daily - Jonny81191 - 08-09-2015 (08-09-2015, 07:43 PM)MY95 Wrote: Interesting, why a TMIC over FMIC Jonny? RE: The new HDi daily - Toms306 - 09-09-2015 Seems a waste to fit a decent clutch and IC (albeit in the wrong place) to only go stage 1+!? Seems a bit silly to be on a 306 forum and own a focus........... RE: The new HDi daily - Midnightclub - 09-09-2015 Well if everyone who's sold there 306 left, there wouldn't be many people left on here would there RE: The new HDi daily - Piggy - 09-09-2015 (08-09-2015, 07:28 PM)Jonny81191 Wrote: Picture of the engine bay, it's quite a tidy setup tbh. Thats quite LOL worthy RE: The new HDi daily - Poodle - 09-09-2015 Why, what's your problem now? It is pretty tidily installed, for what it is, even if the basic concept is flawed. RE: The new HDi daily - MY95 - 29-09-2015 Any updates Jonny? RE: The new HDi daily - insomaniac45 - 29-09-2015 i have been meaning to organise an Eastleigh Meet, just so i can out names to faces for you and Poodle lol. Like the color, (as it is the same as mine) think its the wrong fuel type though.... RE: The new HDi daily - Jonny81191 - 29-02-2016 Upgrade in the pipeline! More to follow once my new daily arrives, this'll be going off the road for installation of more boost! RE: The new HDi daily - Piggy - 29-02-2016 Win boost RE: The new HDi daily - Frosty - 29-02-2016 GT20 again? RE: The new HDi daily - MY95 - 29-02-2016 Yes Jonny! proper win upgrade!
