Leak near EGR - Dreijers - 16-06-2015 I have mysterious leak from place where exhaust gases go to EGR valve(I think). EGR is not blanked, maybe this is the right time. What could be reason for this? Should I be concerned at all, because engine has >250k miles on it! and probably has not been rebuilt. Thanks in advance! RE: Leak near EGR - tigerstyle - 16-06-2015 super common problem bud! time to de- EGR! RE: Leak near EGR - Poodle - 16-06-2015 That's your inlet elbow, not the egr, just needs a new gasket. Having trouble finding them for sale, so may need to cut one out of gasket paper. Lots of people say cereal boxes are fine, but having tried it a few times and each time achieved the same messy, not-actually-fixed end result i wouldn't bother. RE: Leak near EGR - JTaylor2005 - 16-06-2015 I had to get my gasket from a Peugeot dealership. Got a pack of 10 for £11 or something like that can't rember. Looking at ur location in latvia that could make things difficult. RE: Leak near EGR - Iceman299 - 16-06-2015 That's actually a pretty minor leak compared to most i've seen, including mine when i first bought it. RE: Leak near EGR - Paul_13 - 16-06-2015 Peugeot is the easiest option for the gasket In this country any way RE: Leak near EGR - titch - 16-06-2015 Yeah new gasket from the dealer, part number 0348 N6 RE: Leak near EGR - HDi--Power - 16-06-2015 Dirko and a gasket will ensure no leaks, don't use the gasket dry or it will leak again RE: Leak near EGR - Dreijers - 17-06-2015 Time to call local dealer! RE: Leak near EGR - Iceman299 - 17-06-2015 I used a couple (dealer recommendation) along with high temp sealant and it's holding up so far RE: Leak near EGR - pro_steve - 17-06-2015 clear silicone seems to be holding on mine RE: Leak near EGR - highwayman306 - 18-06-2015 Nice steve i used a folder divider and high temp silicon (copper stuff) so far so good |
