De-Wastgated T2? - Diggers - 28-04-2012 been offered a t2 but the actuator has been broken off. worth replacing it or welding the wastegate shut? Re: De-Wastgated T2? - Dan! - 28-04-2012 Just replace it. Could easily get an actuator in your pocket at a scrapyard Re: De-Wastgated T2? - 4WayDiablo - 28-04-2012 mine is effectivly dewastegated its alright, fuel limits the boost Re: De-Wastgated T2? - strictly_perv - 28-04-2012 The nipple broke off the actuator on mine so boost is controlled by fuel now like 4waydiablo's Re: De-Wastgated T2? - Dave - 28-04-2012 De wastegate it, it'll be fine if you're running mild fuel anyway so wont overboost. Re: De-Wastgated T2? - silverzx - 28-04-2012 +1 for de-wastegated T2 at 22~28 Psi (I tweak fuel + LDA a lot). Re: De-Wastgated T2? - Dum-Dum - 29-04-2012 If your only on a 9mm pump DWG will be fine, the most mine would ever hit was 30psi. Re: De-Wastgated T2? - Ruan - 29-04-2012 That's because no one jammed the gate shut, it'll blow open with high Exhaust Mani pressure... The petrol wastegate just wasnt strong enough...now replaced with the spring from a 325tds actuator, much better Re: De-Wastgated T2? - mark_airey - 29-04-2012 anto Wrote:Ruan Wrote:That's because no one jammed the gate shut, it'll blow open with high Exhaust Mani pressure... Arc welder boost control FTW Re: De-Wastgated T2? - Dave - 29-04-2012 mark_airey Wrote:Arc welder boost control FTW This method got administered on all my turbos Re: De-Wastgated T2? - mark_airey - 29-04-2012 Dave Wrote:mark_airey Wrote:Arc welder boost control FTW well..............its easy, 1) with actuator still in place weld around wastegate arm, 2) remove actuator, 3) enjoy lots of boost It would be rude not to wouldn't it when its that easy De-Wastgated T2? - padge - 29-04-2012 My actual gate is welded all way round! Re: De-Wastgated T2? - Dave - 29-04-2012 No need to weld it all the way round, just pin it closed... De-Wastgated T2? - padge - 29-04-2012 Just making sure Re: De-Wastgated T2? - CJ_Derv - 29-04-2012 just wondering guys, My mate decided to disconnect the hose from turbo housing to actuator, and plugged it. but actuator is still connected and cant hit over 22pis could the wastegate be opening with exhaust pressure? Never give this much though CJ Re: De-Wastgated T2? - Dave - 29-04-2012 Yeh the spring is either weaker than the exhaust pressure on the flap and giving way, or there isnt enough fuel she smoking? Re: De-Wastgated T2? - Dave - 29-04-2012 Posted wrong thread sorry Re: De-Wastgated T2? - CJ_Derv - 29-04-2012 Dave Wrote:Yeh the spring is either weaker than the exhaust pressure on the flap and giving way, or there isnt enough fuel she smoking? Oh yeah she smokes Jamma helped me set her up so far and got Ground LDA pin can still get loads more fuel just never been able to boost over 22 since this been done and this thread just made me think ahhhh!?!?! lol CJ Re: De-Wastgated T2? - Dave - 29-04-2012 Yeh thats more than likely whats happeneing, I know mine used to creep open whenever I was pushing 26+ psi. Was just getting frustrated these last few weeks since got my love for my pug back and saw everyone boosting more than 22 and thinking hmmmm haha Trip to pick the welder up tomoz Re: De-Wastgated T2? - silverzx - 29-04-2012 Sure a bit of exhaust putty could do the same job? Re: De-Wastgated T2? - CJ_Derv - 29-04-2012 silverzx Wrote:Sure a bit of exhaust putty could do the same job? Ive got some chemical metal somewhere lol suppose that could work lol Re: De-Wastgated T2? - silverzx - 29-04-2012 CJ_Derv Wrote:silverzx Wrote:Sure a bit of exhaust putty could do the same job? Right on! Pikey XUD tuning ftw. Re: De-Wastgated T2? - mark_airey - 29-04-2012 Just in case welding it shut isn't pikey enough for you Re: De-Wastgated T2? - Dum-Dum - 29-04-2012 mark_airey Wrote:Just in case welding it shut isn't pikey enough for you Sigged! Re: De-Wastgated T2? - strictly_perv - 29-04-2012 Sounds like mines creeping open as it won't go past 27psi...owell, i'm getting a bigger blower on there soon Re: De-Wastgated T2? - Ricky - 29-04-2012 strictly_derv Wrote:Sounds like mines creeping open as it won't go past 27psi...owell, i'm getting a bigger blower on there soon 205 with beefy turbo, my dream car Re: De-Wastgated T2? - CJ_Derv - 30-04-2012 got welder on way to work lets see if its quiet over dinner whip the car up on Fork lift truck and away we go haha |
