I used to have a 106 and have some lowering springs from it, will they fit on my 1.8 xs? obviously I know that they will lower it a lot more than the specified amount for a 106 but just wondering.

Yes but no.. Yes they will fit(saxo ones do) but they are dangerous tbh as wrong spring rate and obv meant for half the weight.

So you have been warned if you do it

I wasn't planning to, I was looking at new springs and remembered I had those so was just wondering, cheers man

Picked up a cheap runabout that's actually pretty tidy. Best course of action to reduce the arch gap? (not stupid lows either) Nearly 100mm between tyre and arch. 1.4 engine sat on cyclones.

runabout = leave it alone and stick it on 14's

RE: suspension springs - connorp - 09-06-2015

well you can have the springs for £20?? they've never even seen the light of day

Just don't. I had spaxo springs on my xsi. It was crashing, harsh, could feel how shit they were in corners under power. And also they put your front end on the floor

RE: suspension springs - connorp - 09-06-2015

yeah i thought it would, would be funny though

RE: suspension springs - Matt - 09-06-2015

Funny until you crash and die

RE: suspension springs - connorp - 09-06-2015

true, I'm not going to use them I just want them gone!!

RE: suspension springs - Ben_w - 09-06-2015

Then lob them on eBay with no reserve or Chuck them in the bin!

RE: suspension springs - curnow_doc - 09-06-2015

No worries. Wasn't sure if anything was possible with that engine size that's why I asked. I'll leave it as is.

You can buy lowering sprigs for anything, doc, just buy ones specified for your car.
