Pics of engine damage needed - 306Dan - 13-05-2015 Hiya guys, a friend of mine has asked me to find as many pics of engine damage possible to build a slide show for his automotive students. Any pics and descriptions of what happened would be great guys RE: Pics of engine damage needed - Poodle - 13-05-2015 A quick browse through the project section for anything with "dt" or "dturbo" or "xud" in the title should do the trick nicely, you'll struggle to get even half of them in. RE: Pics of engine damage needed - pioneer DJ paddy - 13-05-2015 This is worsed case like BT leg out of bed lol if u need any more photos give me a shout I have a few more :-) RE: Pics of engine damage needed - Toms306 - 13-05-2015 (13-05-2015, 12:47 PM)Poodle Wrote: A quick browse through the project section for anything with "dt" or "dturbo" or "xud" in the title should do the trick nicely, you'll struggle to get even half of them in. Looks like someone beat me to it... On a more helpful note, are you looking for engine internal damage? Or just 'broken stuff near the engine'? I have quite a few pics of 'broken stuff' but not many (if any!) damaged internals... Here is one failure if it's any good - crank pulley collapsed, caused cambelt to snap, causing rocker arm to snap. Dead HDi engine... Ohh also - VW quality... Egg shaped camshaft lobe(s) and smashed hydro lifter - caused by shitty longlife oil. Dead PD engine... RE: Pics of engine damage needed - 306Dan - 13-05-2015 Both please Tom engine internal and aux damage, I do really need to search myself but I'm on my crqppy ifail on badly enough signal to read posts at the mo let alone see the pics RE: Pics of engine damage needed - Niall - 13-05-2015 Big end bearing failure due to lack of oil pressure which was caused by the adjacent main bearing not being torqued up correctly RE: Pics of engine damage needed - Dum-Dum - 13-05-2015 Fly wheel leaving engine courtesy of Chris GTi [attachment=23165] [attachment=23166] And part of a rod i found on the floor [attachment=23167] RE: Pics of engine damage needed - 7057sam - 13-05-2015 Chris (eddy) got some of his rallye s block RE: Pics of engine damage needed - Lolben91 - 13-05-2015 Ford Escort with a 1.6 CVH engine, gearbox was filled with a dark green fluid which didnt seem like normal gearbox oil, so it probably wasnt RE: Pics of engine damage needed - Toms306 - 13-05-2015 Sign of a bad gearbox (only use genuine PSA oil ffs!) - Turbo exhaust oil seal blown - couldn't confirm cause Failed clutch release bearing - Damaged clutch and DMF - overheated (slippy clutch and too much power lol) Snapped cat - Peugeot quality Snapped spring (see...tapered springs are dangerous!) Thermostat stuck open - GM quality Burnt connection - loose fit leading to arcing Fuel pump leak - damaged seal caused by running veg oil Burnt fuel pump pin - caused by Peugeot electrics Gearbox scored by stray rivet stuck from clutch cover (I think) Got a bit carried away looking at broken things on photobucket... I know they're not all engine related, but hopefully some are of use. RE: Pics of engine damage needed - Poodle - 13-05-2015 Wasn't/isn't there a comedy thread in the couch somewhere that just turned into a "this is my picture of something really, really broken"? |
