RE: yellow fog lamp glass - highwayman306 - 07-05-2015 Couldn't you buy the glass tint? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30-x-60cm-Yellow-Tinting-Film-Fog-Tail-Lights-Headlights-Tint-Car-Van-Wrap-/251677921916?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a992c527c Nice and cheap and there are videos on youtube on how to fit Hope that helps RE: yellow fog lamp glass - Eeyore - 07-05-2015 Yeh there isnt yellow glass its just yellow tint film! 99p! RE: yellow fog lamp glass - highwayman306 - 07-05-2015 Just out of curiosity though, how does the tint stand up to fog lights? RE: yellow fog lamp glass - 306pc - 07-05-2015 Done a bit of research and I think I'm going with stained glass window paint. RE: yellow fog lamp glass - highwayman306 - 07-05-2015 Ah, now I have heard of this... I do believe that the heat could 'crack' the paint over time though. Maybe there is someone with the knowhow on this and the paint is better than I think, but I would ask if it has high temperature resistance RE: yellow fog lamp glass - Seb_Ryan - 07-05-2015 Proper tint spray? Ive used yellow in the past and had no problems RE: yellow fog lamp glass - Eeyore - 07-05-2015 Ive had no problem with the yellow tint film for 3 years.... When my fog light smashed it was the tint that held it together and stopped glass going everywhere. Brushed or painted always looks inconsistent to me. Film is super easy to remove and replace and is the cheapest option. I second that as for the paint, i was on about brush-on type...dunno about spray RE: yellow fog lamp glass - 306pc - 07-05-2015 Is th film self adhesive and do you put it on the inside or outside? Also do you get 100% covered, around all of the bends perfectly? I wouldn't like it if not very tidy. RE: yellow fog lamp glass - highwayman306 - 07-05-2015 If you do it correctly (guides on youtube) then you can cover the majority of the lens. It is self adhesive and I would only put it on the outside (easier and away from the more direct heat of bulb) Thats just me though Some people use heat guns at distance...or hairdryer to form the tint around the lens Hope that helps mate RE: yellow fog lamp glass - 306pc - 07-05-2015 Not too worried about the heat problem, can't remember the last time I used the foglamps. Want it to look good though. I'll check the video on YouTube. Cheers. RE: yellow fog lamp glass - highwayman306 - 07-05-2015 Well the videos are just guides of how to tint but tinting is tinting They helped me out with some tinting some years back, americans can be boring to listen/watch but the videos on there are informative RE: yellow fog lamp glass - RetroPug - 09-05-2015 (07-05-2015, 08:59 AM)Eeyore Wrote: Yeh there isnt yellow glass its just yellow tint film! 99p! Yes there is. Some Ph.1s came with yellow foglights as standard. RE: yellow fog lamp glass - Dum-Dum - 09-05-2015 Use the film to do it, a more consistent look, easire to replace if it does get damaged and easier to remove if you change your mind. I've done ph3 fogs and it's easy enough to do but easier if you take the lens off to do it. It's also easier to bend around some contours with heat from a hair dryer |
