Jonnys old s16 - Aidan27 - 29-03-2015 Hey, is anybody able to tell me abit about an s16 I have bought please, apparently a bloke called Jonny had it Thanx RE: Jonnys old s16 - Toms306 - 29-03-2015 Got a picture lol? I would assume it was Johnny B's, a blue one? RE: Jonnys old s16 - Piggy - 29-03-2015 Welcome RE: Jonnys old s16 - Aidan27 - 29-03-2015 That's the one Jonny bs old one RE: Jonnys old s16 - Matt-Rallye - 29-03-2015 Glad to see you signed up lad I was there earlier, it is jonny B's old sigma S16 RE: Jonnys old s16 - Aidan27 - 29-03-2015 It seems good but I think it's lackin power because a phase 2 xsi with gti6 inlet and exhaust manifold wit decat, pulls better and seems genuine faster Jonnys old s16 - Frosty - 29-03-2015 Does it still have standard inlet? Could be the AVAC system playing up RE: Jonnys old s16 - 7057sam - 29-03-2015 Hello and welcome along RE: Jonnys old s16 - Aidan27 - 29-03-2015 Sorry for being rude, hey guys I'm new to the owners club, I have managed to put a gti6 inlet on it but I havent got an idol control valve because of the different amount of pins [attachment=22450] RE: Jonnys old s16 - Day666 - 29-03-2015 Welcome & a big hello ... RE: Jonnys old s16 - Aidan27 - 29-03-2015 [attachment=22451] RE: Jonnys old s16 - Niall - 30-03-2015 Welcome. Good to have you onboard and great to see the car back! There shouldn't really be a lack of power! I always thought this car was quick for what it was. And it's not a XSI engine. It's a s16 which the gti6 replaced. Iirc they are about 155hp? Sure someone will correct me! RE: Jonnys old s16 - Aidan27 - 30-03-2015 How do I change s16 idol control valve to gti6 Idodol control valve due to different number of pins RE: Jonnys old s16 - Niall - 30-03-2015 How many pins as the s16 loom got? RE: Jonnys old s16 - Aidan27 - 30-03-2015 3 and the gti6 has 4 RE: Jonnys old s16 - ginge191 - 30-03-2015 Jonnyb had it, it's f*cked...demand a refund. Jokes aside, he cared for that car A LOT. Very nice setup in that and owned by a pretty decent guy. RE: Jonnys old s16 - Niall - 30-03-2015 I think you'll have to try and fit the s16 icv to that manifold then. If it's a 3 pin motor, it works in a completely different way to the gti 4 pin. RE: Jonnys old s16 - THE_Liam - 30-03-2015 Yeah Jonny spent a lot of time and money on this car, I hope it's still in great condition. RE: Jonnys old s16 - Aidan27 - 30-03-2015 Does any body have footage of Jonny b's s16 running plz RE: Jonnys old s16 - Moonwalker - 31-03-2015 Welcome buddy. RE: Jonnys old s16 - welshpug - 31-03-2015 yep, you need to take the RFS icv off, blank the takeoff and connect the pipe to the RFV ICV. RE: Jonnys old s16 - Aidan27 - 01-04-2015 Decided to put it back to avac but I did a compression test yesterday and my highest pressure was 150 psi so rebuild time I think [attachment=22471] Pug life RE: Jonnys old s16 - Matt-Rallye - 02-04-2015 Too many folks round our way with S16's and black rallyes RE: Jonnys old s16 - welshpug - 02-04-2015 150 isnt particularly low, if they were all even itll be fine. did you do it with the throttle open? RE: Jonnys old s16 - Aidan27 - 02-04-2015 Throttle open cylinder 1 130 psi Cylinder 2 150 psi Cylinder 3 150 psi Cylinder 4 120 psi I thought with the head skimmed the psi should b around 210 psi and it also breaths really heavy RE: Jonnys old s16 - Aidan27 - 05-04-2015 Sending car to b rebuilt my Martin Boyer so she will come back at full potential hopefully RE: Jonnys old s16 - Poodle - 06-04-2015 Good to see it getting some proper love and attention again, what are your plans for it long-term? Should get a project thread up. |
