Mitsubishi Pajero - fueling issue - ginge191 - 28-03-2015 Not an XUD as such but a diesel nonetheless. If anyone has one or knows there way around this it would be appreciated. Symptoms; when cold, idle is low, no power, seems like fuel starvation, wont rev properly etc, especially on hills Tried cures; fuel filter changed, air filter changed, checked the EGR (which has somehow created a whole, solid carbon block post-valve, quite incredible. Will get a pic), de-EGR'd. I think it maybe a cold idle issue. As it warms up, the idle raises and the power comes back as normal, but takes 5 minutes to warm up. Any DERV heads got any ideas would be appreciated. RE: Mitsubishi Pajero - fueling issue - vincent1 - 28-03-2015 do these have a fuel pickup gauze on the pickup pipe in the tank like the 306s? RE: Mitsubishi Pajero - fueling issue - LewisG - 28-03-2015 This sounds like the injector pump, have you had the seal replaced on the injector pump? We own a Pajero and had lots of problems but it now runs perfect RE: Mitsubishi Pajero - fueling issue - ginge191 - 28-03-2015 (28-03-2015, 05:41 PM)vincent1 Wrote: do these have a fuel pickup gauze on the pickup pipe in the tank like the 306s? I believe so; the pickup and filter was cleaned and changed (28-03-2015, 05:57 PM)LewisG Wrote: This sounds like the injector pump, have you had the seal replaced on the injector pump? RE: Mitsubishi Pajero - fueling issue - Danny Wideboy - 28-03-2015 These symptoms are 100% fuel pump seals. I have owned a few of these and I am afraid that is the only explanation for what is going on. Try a search on POCUK.COM for your problem and I guarantee you will come to this conclusion. RE: Mitsubishi Pajero - fueling issue - LewisG - 28-03-2015 You have to take the pump out, There's a guy not far from me who does them in a couple of hours. He's done 100s of them, His website is www.mobilemechanic.org RE: Mitsubishi Pajero - fueling issue - Dave - 04-04-2015 Maybe get an IPP gauge on the pump to see whats going on with pressure? It could highlight an air leak pre-pump that only goes away as the diesel is heated/less viscous RE: Mitsubishi Pajero - fueling issue - welshpug - 04-04-2015 Check the oil level, if its higher than it should be and smells if diesel its thd pump seals. RE: Mitsubishi Pajero - fueling issue - Danny Wideboy - 04-04-2015 It just is pump seals. No messing about. Owned a few and all symptoms are there. RE: Mitsubishi Pajero - fueling issue - ginge191 - 04-04-2015 Gets to the point it cuts out on corners and hills. Looks like new fuel pump then! Hard to come by RE: Mitsubishi Pajero - fueling issue - welshpug - 04-04-2015 don't need a new one, just get that one rebuilt. |
