gearstick wobbleing back and forth on xs - jjenn20 - 22-03-2015
Can anyone tell me whats up with it ?
I turned a corner with my full lock on and there was a loud bang from the front left wheel,
Now my gearstick Is wobbling back and forth when I drive, if i go over 3000 revs the whole car starts shaking and nearly nocks itself out of gear,
Any advice guys

I had alook under neath the car and all I noticed was the gear box were leakong
But im no mechanic so I diddnt really know what I was looking for

Sounds like your CV joint has gone. Loud bang when on lock, heavy vibration when accelerating

I looked under the car and oils leeking from the cv joint

It'll be cv joint, I had the same and replaced every engine mount to find it was drive shaft.
Usually about £90 from motor factors and you get about £45 back when you take your old one in.

Oil or grease? Big difference. If its grease everywhere, its a CV joint (which sounds very likely in this occasion) but if there is oil everywhere (you can tell GB oil because it bloody stinks!) then you need to look elsewhere :/

No idea whats in your gearbox lol.... Gear oil smells bad but not like shit! More like the scrap yard on a hot day, burnt metallic oily smell that sticks in your throat.
