Whats involved with replacing ECU on a Y reg 306 Diesel - locodriver 65 - 11-03-2015 Hi Guys, I have a problem on my 306 the rev counter is on zero and the engine light is on. Engine is running rough, lots of white smoke. My garage says it could be the ECU. If so, what needs to be done to fix it. Or replace it. I have replaced the crankshaft position sensor but still the same. Regards Paul RE: Whats involved with replacing ECU on a Y reg 306 Diesel - Toms306 - 11-03-2015 Have you checked the wiring between the ECU and crank sensor? And the engine earth points? Changing the ECU you will need an unlocked ECU or change the ECU, central locking and immobiliser box (under dash) and the key fobs from the donor vehicle. RE: Whats involved with replacing ECU on a Y reg 306 Diesel - locodriver 65 - 11-03-2015 Hi, Yes the wiring is sound between crank sensor and ECU. Yes I have checked the engine earth point which goes to the battery. Is there any other points on the engine I should be looking for. OK on ECU change details. Or just visually checked it? Same goes with the earth points, have you taken them of and cleaned them for good measure? |
