Keyed Car Damage - Herby7 - 07-03-2015

Hi All

Someone decided to key the passenger side of my car a few weeks ago. I have tried turtle wax scratch repair kit and it has improved it .
Any other ideas of how to repair it ? I have been quoted £300 to get it resprayed . I have added pics of how it looks now . It may not look like
much but it really annoying .

Thanks

Sorry to see some low life's have done this to your car fella, have been gettin a lot more of this recently, just to give you a ball park, the last 2 we repaired was £400, scratch all the way down the near side of the car, that's a respray as the scratches had gone into the metal

Yeah, I'm afraid I concur with Choppin, looks like a respray job to me. Would have suggested finding someone who's handy with a machine polisher, but if the scratch is through the paint to the metal underneath, no amount of machine polishing will help.

Sorry to see that mate, had the same thing done to my DT, and I was furious when I saw it! Nospeak

Nope

Is the turtlewax scratch repair like a touch up pen? It looks raised now?

I think wet sanding and a good going over with a DA would help but it'll certainly still notice quite obviously.

I Used the kit link below it has improved it to what it was before .

Whats DA?

Its not as noticable as u may think till u get up closer to the car .

Still deciding whether to get it resprayed at the cost of £300 or not .

Raving herb, I would tbh, saves arsing about with pens and shit, Some lady garden did the 306 a few years ago. Cost £300 to have the rear quarter sorted out.

Exactly, if it were me i'd get some cutting compound and machine polish it. If the low life's are local, they'll prob key it again if they see you've had it resprayed

Add some sort of deterrent after the respray... Maybe a hidden cable from the mains to the car... ninja
