Xudt into a 106 - CJRODELL - 20-02-2015

Hi all just wondering if anyone knows if you can put an xudt into a 106??

RE: Xudt into a 106 - bashbarnard - 20-02-2015

You can. Requires alot of work and cutting of the chassis to fit gearbox in. If you look at 106 forums there are a couple on there. Saying that if it was me I would stick a turbo and a Bosch on a 1.5 d. Its been done and from what I've seen goes well.

RE: Xudt into a 106 - Eeyore - 20-02-2015

you can. Diggerz did it a few years ago. needs custom mounts and driveshafts. Possibly some custom exhaust work as there probably isnt much room down the back as usually the exhaust manifold is at the front of a 106.

Someone did a couple of years ago.. Lots of effort required TBH, and like nailing a dead horse to the front in terms of handling. I'd look at Samass' old project, he strapped a GT15 to a 1.5 NAD. 40 PSi and lots of broken internals but certainly potential if you went for it!

RE: Xudt into a 106 - CJRODELL - 20-02-2015

Ahh okay does sound like a lot of work!! 1.5d with turbo and Bosch sounds like a bit of fun!! And gt15 on 40 psi sounds like a extreme 5 minutes!! Smile

Just run sensible boost will be fine.

Is Google/106oc/search function broken?!

Yeah only asking cause I've got a quick silver 106 lying around and thinking of a little summer project!! Smile would it be hard to switch it from petrol to diesel??

RE: Xudt into a 106 - Piggy - 20-02-2015

hey.
I said it
Everyone else was thinking it Tongue

And I dont see how a specific question about fitting a xud9 is 'general banter'??
Should be in XUD section surely!?

RE: Xudt into a 106 - Poodle - 20-02-2015

Nope, just you and your itchy vagina.

Put a gt15 and a repair gasket on it and see what happens, when sams was working it went like hell. He did have to cut the slam panel to fit the 306 dt bosch pump though... lmao If i've got a useable turbo in the garage you can have it for a tenner lol.

RE: Xudt into a 106 - Piggy - 20-02-2015

I got a T2 you can have for postage costs.
Im up for helping.

I still stand by my google/106oc/search comment! Tongue

RE: Xudt into a 106 - bashbarnard - 21-02-2015

I will also have a k14 or a gt15 for sale soon as Lu hasn't decided what turbo she wants yet.

RE: Xudt into a 106 - Jonny81191 - 21-02-2015

Yeah, when Sam's was working it'd sit in the boot of my stage 3 HDI up to naughty speeds lol

RE: Xudt into a 106 - CJRODELL - 21-02-2015

Cheers guys sounds like a load of fun and good suggestions might actually think about getting the old quickie out of the shed for summer and doing somthing to it! Or I Might go down the route and think about upgrading the turbo on my 306 first!! Smile

RE: Xudt into a 106 - Jimmy306uk - 21-02-2015

I had the shitty blue sleeper s1 106 dturbo, it's mad how quick they are even with just a Bosch and t2. I guess its the weight, shame it only lasted an hour in my ownership haha. Make sure you get a decent made one! And not one that bangs against bulkhead anytime you move

Yeah if i was going to do it, it would be with that set up!! Yeah probably down to weight those 106s don't weigh much!! Haha worth it though I can imagine!! Big Grin

RE: Xudt into a 106 - Jimmy306uk - 21-02-2015

Make sure you get proper driveshafts made haha
