MOT fail - Kimmie - 19-04-2012 Luckily it's just the Corsa. I knew it wasn't going to pass, but wasn't sure what was wrong. Well, here's the list...... Front spring incomplete ( it was about to pierce the tyre hock Both ball joint covers need replacing Driver side CV joint needs replacing Driver headlight misaligned Rear brake binding Not sure what the damage is yet as the mechanic is putting together the costs, but not cool! I just want rid now so I can use the money for the 6 Re: MOT fail - 4WayDiablo - 19-04-2012 ebay... spares or repairs. or if you dont want the hassle of ebay... scrap it tbh Re: MOT fail - Kimmie - 19-04-2012 There's a couple of people interested (friends of family, learners ) so really i'd like to sell, but I guess I'll have to see how much it would cost. Scrap value will be crap tbh. f*cking hate driving it now, don't know how I lasted 4 years! Re: MOT fail - 4WayDiablo - 19-04-2012 theyre a bit of a bitch to repair, and corsa b's arent really holding any value the cv joint, springs and brakes may be troublesome Re: MOT fail - Kimmie - 19-04-2012 Luckily I've got a vauxhall mechanic who does it all a lot cheaper I know what you mean though, but I think I might be able to sell her.. Re: MOT fail - Scott - 19-04-2012 Changing the balljoint and spring wouldn't be too much of an issue ("powerrrr"), it'd be useful if we could get the parts from a scrapped corsa but then they may be just as likely to fail. Difficult decision, it's barely worth scrapping as well as it weighs about as much as an egg (coincidentally the same shape ) Re: MOT fail - Grant - 19-04-2012 Sod getting a price from the mechanic, get the bacon sarnies out and we can do it! Re: MOT fail - Kimmie - 20-04-2012 I cna't do it on my drive way though....I have asked by my parents are being massively gay and won't let me! Re: MOT fail - spike2002 - 20-04-2012 Mayb do it on another members drive then? Re: MOT fail - Kimmie - 20-04-2012 It's getting it there! MOT fail - Matt - 20-04-2012 Kimmie Wrote:I cna't do it on my drive way though....I have asked by my parents are being massively gay and won't let me!push it out on the road, stick it on axle stands so the wheels are off the ground. Do the work there job done Re: MOT fail - mark_airey - 20-04-2012 Kimmie Wrote:I cna't do it on my drive way though....I have asked by my parents are being massively gay and won't let me! Just do it when they are out..........they won't have a choice if its in bits all over the drive when they return Or give them the options of, a) you do it there, b) if they don't want you to do it there then they pay for a mechanic to do it for you......... Re: MOT fail - Ed Doe - 20-04-2012 Just buy the whole lot off egay and we'll fit it in a day on a weekend as already said! Should be well easy, and can be done on the road if your parents dont want it on the drive (don't blame em tbh ) Re: MOT fail - daddyfixit - 20-04-2012 spring about £30 takse about an hour 2 balljoints about £28 hoping they are bolted on takes about an hour stretchy cv boot about £6 about 30 mins free off handbrake lever on rear shoes about 30 minutes aim headlights against garage door about 5 minutes p.s some motor factors are starting to sell replacement balljoint boots for a couple of quid ??? Re: MOT fail - Grant - 20-04-2012 My parents hate me working on my car on the drive. Not that they get a say in it... Most of the time its in too many peices to move, before they can get a word in lol. Can you not book it in for an MOT somewhere near a member and then just drive to that members house with no intention of going to the MOT? Naughty i know... Re: MOT fail - Kimmie - 20-04-2012 I know! They're being gay about it, but then it is their house  Mechanic is calling me in the morning with a price. I'm going to get him to do the work so when I sell it, it will have a warranty. Anyone want a Corsa? Re: MOT fail - el sid - 27-04-2012 Hi kimmie do you still have the corsa ? Re: MOT fail - Scott - 27-04-2012 She does Re: MOT fail - Kimmie - 27-04-2012 I do! And I've had all the work done, so no advisories or anything on the MOT! http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-moto ... /100858840 Re: MOT fail - el sid - 27-04-2012 Oh it's a 5 door need a 3 door .
