Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - Paul_13 - 29-12-2014 My hdi engine has a bit of a funny problem It seems to bog down at full throttle on acceleration, if I lift off slightly it jumps to life and accelerates. Get to 3k and it "misfires" (more of a judder) and above 3k it is rather flat and doesn't like to accelerate. It's been remapped recently and the problem has become more apparent now. No smoke in acceleration I've changed between about 4 Tps and it's still the same. I've changed and unplugged the maf and it's still the same LP in the tank? HP? Injectors? Fuel filter has been changed Air filter is new Egr stuck open? I need to blank it off RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - DeeTurbo - 29-12-2014 Did you have issues with the TPS wiring? RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - Paul_13 - 29-12-2014 This is a completely new car mate. That ones gone now to andyyy RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - Toms306 - 29-12-2014 How have you managed to buy two knackered HDi's!? Tbh it could be various things. Do you have access to PP2K yet? RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - DeeTurbo - 29-12-2014 What mileage is the car on? I would stick PP2k on it and check the demand versus actual fuel pressure as it could be the HP pump isn't supplying enough fuel but they normally shut down when that happens. RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - Paul_13 - 29-12-2014 You have no idea about my bad luck issues I've got a laptop with pp2000 on the way soon. Need to get out plugged in About 178k on it Just a thought if the fpr isn't reading right and the hp pump is dodgy that could cause the problem maybe? RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - DeeTurbo - 29-12-2014 Could you do a video and post that? They normally shut down when there is a fuel issue. RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - Jimbo - 29-12-2014 If you can't plug it in at present, give the fpr a clean and see if that helps. They can cause all sorts of issues RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - Paul_13 - 29-12-2014 Another think it does. In neutral and I hold the revs steady at 3k it fluctuates about 500 rpm +/- RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - DeeTurbo - 29-12-2014 Did you check to see if there was any corrosion in the TPS plug and it the ELM light on? RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - Paul_13 - 29-12-2014 I don't think you'd hear /see it on the video tbh Plug looks good. No eml on. The wiring looks fine. I believe it isn't the Tps side of things that is at fault Might swap the lp pump tomorrow to rule that out RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - DeeTurbo - 29-12-2014 Is it worse when cold? RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - Paul_13 - 29-12-2014 Yeah doesn't really want to accelerate at all when cold. I've got a Bluetooth obd thing and it shows it running at 80'c odd. The clocks read lower weirdly RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - Poodle - 29-12-2014 How does the fuel filter look? Failing that i'd have a look at the lift pump housing and filter. Sounds like a physical restriction somewhere that the management is struggling to deal with. RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - Paul_13 - 29-12-2014 I can't open up the link in your sig mate, it's the link broken from the forum upgrade? Was going to change the lift pump see how I get on. Fuel filter is brand new Nice one on the link RE: Hesitation and "misfire" at 3k and above - Poodle - 29-12-2014 Sorry, fixed. I must finish writing that lol. Fair enough, hope that fixes it. |
