2004 Vectra 1.9cdti clutch fault!? - Piggy - 23-12-2014 Been asked for quote to do a clutch master cylinder on a 2004 Vectra, 1.9cdti. Ive obviously quoted for the whole clutch too, and I am trying to persuade him for a DMF too due to mileage. But due to recent issues, I have asked WHY he wants it done. He said: "apparently the disc/plate is moving around and when it moves its triggering a sensor and putting it into limp mode" Now, I have NEVER heard of this! And a quick google comes up with NOTHING clutch/limp mode related!!?? Autodata also shows no common faults as such on the vectra. Any thoughts??? Something I don't know!? RE: 2004 Vectra 1.9cdti clutch fault!? - 1616six - 23-12-2014 Sounds like a load of rubbish. I categorically would flat out refuse to change the clutch without the DMF, you'll get a call in a couple of months saying the new clutch is making noises. I've seen Z19DTH engines with clutches/flywheels absolutely knackered which still don't go into limp mode. He needs to get OPCOM on it. RE: 2004 Vectra 1.9cdti clutch fault!? - bashbarnard - 23-12-2014 Its a common fault with the sabb variant of it. Basically what happens is it runs out of sync. Its actually the duel mass at fault not the clutch. I had one about 2 weeks ago. Also had issues starting as well. Apprently the duel mass judders causing the ecu to read a faulty crank signal. Also its subframe off and the box is f**king heavy. Took 3 of us to lift it back in comfortably. Apaet from that not a bad job. Hope it helps Ps we didnt know what it was. Couldnt for the life of me figure it out. We know a sabb specialist he diagnosed it. Cant take the credit. Been spot on since RE: 2004 Vectra 1.9cdti clutch fault!? - Piggy - 23-12-2014 Thats exactly what I said it would be Bash; as soon as he mentioned something moving and causing limp mode I was like, thats a DMF! He is a proper 'know it all' but had no idea what a DMF was!! RE: 2004 Vectra 1.9cdti clutch fault!? - bashbarnard - 23-12-2014 Well all I can say is. With our one it sorted the fault man. I hate know it alls. Im always willing to admit im wrong thats how you learn. RE: 2004 Vectra 1.9cdti clutch fault!? - Piggy - 23-12-2014 I aint touching this vectra till he pays me for fixing his saxo...which still isnt done. He said he needed a new lucas pump, I said, you sure, "oh yeah, thats whats gone"... so, I did! Fitted all well. Wouldnt start. Found huge fuel leak. Bypassed it and fitted different type of fuel filter for him. Still wouldnt start, seems someone has butchered the immobiliser wiring. ....apparently a "real" mechanic would know all this and shouldnt have swapped the pump blah blah blah. grr RE: 2004 Vectra 1.9cdti clutch fault!? - bashbarnard - 23-12-2014 Ive had customers like that. Not worth doing things for. RE: 2004 Vectra 1.9cdti clutch fault!? - Piggy - 23-12-2014 he's a mate mind. Plus he has yet to pickup my alloys from Miles which I paid miles for about 6weeks ago. That was part of the deal! RE: 2004 Vectra 1.9cdti clutch fault!? - Iceman299 - 23-12-2014 Some mate you have there! Once he pays what he owes and gets your alloys i wouldn't do anything for him again. Sounds like a right prat RE: 2004 Vectra 1.9cdti clutch fault!? - WiNgNuTz - 23-12-2014 Sounds like the "mate" of mine that sold me the estate! RE: 2004 Vectra 1.9cdti clutch fault!? - Piggy - 23-12-2014 He is. he would fit in at PEG. He currently owns a Xtype V6. Painted lime green witha halfords spoiler on the boot and a Union Jack on the front stretching back across the car. Nuf said. But he is so pathetic I feel sorry for him. His family is nice. |
