You need a cutoff switch to the actual fuel supply. Very cool nonetheless. RE: engine start Peugeot XUDT Diesel - procta - 21-12-2014 that's darrenjlobb other project! just think if it was darrens, stage one etc! RE: engine start Peugeot XUDT Diesel - RetroPug - 21-12-2014 Would you actually want a road car engine in an aeroplane given that you want high torque at low rpm? RE: engine start Peugeot XUDT Diesel - Ruan - 21-12-2014 Well, you just match the prop to the motor... If anything you actually want high power at high rpms to swing a bigger prop and move more air when flat out... The issue lies with standard road going engines that that they were never designed for continuous high speed, high load operation... XUDs don't especially like making 90hp at 4300rpm all day long... After a friend of mine working for an aero diesel company and seeing the sort of testing they endure, there's no way an XUD9 would put up with it making 90hp unless quite a few changes were made... |
