Slider bolt options?? - ginge191 - 16-04-2012

Ok, so some may know i've had recent issues with these caliper i bought from tddan, not his fault, and he's willing to help so don't hurt him...

So i've been emailing round EVERYONE in the UK to try and get hold of some slider bolts.

Now the bolts dimensions are 70mm in length, and the width is a bit iffy, its around 8mm, i'll get some pics up. with a screw in the top.

Biggred who deal with brake parts have given me two alternatives, but the same caliper nonetheless...

option 1 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270937473870? ... 3D1&_rdc=1

and option 2 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270955072452? ... 3D1&_rdc=1

Can anyone give me a heads up on any alternatives or a way of getting hold of some of these new.

I'm going to grab a ruler and take some pictures of the specifics.

I'm also concerned about the screw dimensions in the top of the bolt, how do i measure this :?

any help would be appreciated, and yes, those at ACE tonight, connor, i'll bring an example along mate.

Scrap yard? Peugeot? All the 306 ones should be the same.
The bolt in the end will be a M8 (13mm head)

Re: Slider bolt options?? - Chris - 16-04-2012

gti brakes? if so sliders from pug are part no 443917 for a rebuld kit. £47.66

Re: Slider bolt options?? - Midnightclub - 16-04-2012

I swear when i bought my last set of pads they included a set of these bolts pre thread locked, If you're getting new pads there should be some included (unless i've got the wrong end of the stick, in which case ignore this post completely)

Re: Slider bolt options?? - Chris - 16-04-2012

No, not going to ace tonight, you coming over to Southampton or Portsmouth?

That kits listed for Girling calipers, but they dont list any other brand for the gti 6.

Re: Slider bolt options?? - Chris - 16-04-2012

Actually the 406 283mm calipers are identical to the gti ones, just carriers are different but should have the same sliders.

I would pop over with it but the bumpers at home (Andover), and I'm in Southmapton.

Also the rebuild kits listed as the same part no for the 406 too.

Re: Slider bolt options?? - ginge191 - 17-04-2012

Still on the lookout for these, Peugeot community please help
A man in need!! If anyone is going to or near a scrapyard please have a look for slider bolts on any of the gti calipers!!!

quick edit: been in touch with BiggRed - a brake specialist company - and i'm sending him one my bolts, he's going to measure it up and confirm which one i need - he seems to think the Astra caliper slider will be the correct bolt, REALLY useful guy, i'll add the info over to add here for future reference if anyone needs it in years to come.

Re: Slider bolt options?? - ginge191 - 18-04-2012

Ok, for those of you that maybe interested - been in contact with BiggRed http://www.biggred.co.uk/, and posted my bolt to them

He (Tony) has found the correct bolt, an Astra bolt http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270955072452? ... 3D1&_rdc=1 which fits and is the same measurements.

Just paying for 4 new ones, great help indeed!
