Bonnet Badge - LewisG - 27-11-2014 Ive seen a lot of people get rid of the tacky chrome bonnet badge and respray it with a nice grey or black ect, how do you go about this? RE: Bonnet Badge - Niall - 27-11-2014 Open the bonnet, 2x 10mm nuts on the back, remove and then give the plastic a key, plastic primer, your chosen colour (gloss/matt/satin) and then a lacquer in your chosen finish. Plastic a key? ![]() RE: Bonnet Badge - Toms306 - 27-11-2014 Key = rough it up Just light grade sandpaper to take the shine off it so the paint sticks better basically. RE: Bonnet Badge - Seb_Ryan - 27-11-2014 If you dont have any sandpaper a sponge with a green scourer pad thing on it will work.. Not that ive ever done that lol RE: Bonnet Badge - WiNgNuTz - 27-11-2014 Personally, i just used acid etch primer....its not flaked yet! ![]() RE: Bonnet Badge - mackat - 06-12-2014 Nice - was just about to ask this question too. Would that be the same for the rear boot? RE: Bonnet Badge - WiNgNuTz - 06-12-2014 Yeah you can do the same with the rear badge, it might want some gentle persuasion to seperate it from the lock mechanism, but it can be done. ![]() RE: Bonnet Badge - Josh1994 - 08-12-2014 I never done this with mine, looks like my badge will be flaked.. im no good when it comes to sandpaper, I had mucked up one of my interior part, I will have to get a new one and try again on it.. |
