Standard Replacement Turbo - MY95 - 15-10-2014 Would this fit onto a Standard GT15 end part (the one that fits onto the exhuast manifold)? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TURBOCHARGER-PEUGEOT-306-Partner-Berlingo-Xantia-2-0-HDI-66Kw-/201176570105?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ed70ed8f9 RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - Toms306 - 15-10-2014 That's an awful lot of money to waste on a 306 HDi! ![]() You could buy 5 used turbo's and just swap them as and when and still not spend that much. ![]() RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - MY95 - 15-10-2014 It is a lot But its £75 each time for my mechanic to get them swapped Might just look out for a lowish mileage turbo to be honest RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - Piggy - 15-10-2014 Flipping ek!!! Just grab one for £50 off someome and swap it yaself! Couples hours works with a jack, axle stand and a few spanners ![]() RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - Toms306 - 15-10-2014 Have you done a HDi turbo Piggy? Theres no access lol, quicker and easier to pull the engine out. That said, I can't imagine your turbo is knackered Matt, more likely that after going to the effort of removing it, your mechanic has had to 'find' something wrong with it. ![]() RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - Piggy - 15-10-2014 Yeah done a couple. Top and bottom engine mount off... Rock it into the right place and get on with it!! RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - MY95 - 15-10-2014 As said in another thread the bearings have gone, will take it to a proper turbo place for them to look at it As you say Tom not the easiest job to change the turbo, especially for a begginer like me! RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - Toms306 - 15-10-2014 Its easy to change, only bolts and a couple of hose clips lol. The problem is the access. Though looks like Piggy is offering. ![]() Might be cheaper to have the bearings changed if it's already off? I don't know how much that'd cost though. RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - Poodle - 15-10-2014 A rebuild would probably cost just as much tbh, that's not a bad price for a remanufactured turbo. RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - MY95 - 15-10-2014 Yeah the access is a bit of a pain! Yeah think im going to just get the bearings changed, what GT15 is my one it says M9 Garrett 43? RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - Piggy - 15-10-2014 Considered an upgrade/fmic/remap if you investing so much cash into it?! RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - MY95 - 15-10-2014 I have considered an FMIC and Map (Stage 2 Limited Torque), lowering engine parts life even more vs a Stage 1 Would cost quite a bit to get a GT17 to fit on though, wouldnt be going full torque Currently happy with a normal Stage 1 due to having the Rallye for Bwarps :p RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - Piggy - 15-10-2014 Could get a decent later gen GT15 vnt to fit lovely RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - MY95 - 15-10-2014 Would it bolt up the exact same as a standard GT15? Which cars do the GT15 VNT's come from? Worth it for an extra few bhp? RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - Piggy - 15-10-2014 Do some research fella... Just would hate to see you dump £275 in ya hdi for no real benefit when that could go towards a strong stg2 hdi RE: Standard Replacement Turbo - MY95 - 15-10-2014 That's the thing, not really wanting to dump that much into it on a standard GT15 so will most likely be getting mine repaired or a 2nd hand one, VNT's sound like too much of a faff for not much gain at a Stage 1/Stage 1+ |
