Injector rebuild / Rough cost - mcglynn - 16-08-2014

Looking at getting my injectors refurbed if its worth the price? Simply cause i bought a set of low mileage ones and theyre ticking already (albeit after about 20k).

So wondering if anywhere refurbs commonrail injectors for a reasonable price?

Not found any at a reasonable price, just as expensive as buying refurbs from online. Most of which have mixed reviews it seems.

may aswell just buy a used set then really? damn haha

That seems to be the best value for money if you can get a good set which is pot luck.

Best price i've seen where they'll actually get refurbed well is about £65 per injector. Tried a couple of the cheaper services and they were crap, have one at the moment that's gone really rusty and leaks and taps like mad, not sure what they did to it but they certainly didn't improve it in any way.

Not worth the faff when a remanufactured or nicely discounted genuine new unit is around £120.

Refurbs only replace the nozzle, which isnt much good when the solenoids are worn out.

Really? So how come they stop the ticking? Refurbished is just another term for remanufactured isn't it?

RE: Injector rebuild / Rough cost - madmadmax - 17-08-2014

Refurbished in not the same as re-manufactured

re-manufactured means they are as new or better than new

whereas Refurbished could just mean they have had the outsides cleaned

that's what i make out of it, there are legal definitions to the words and i cba to look for them
