CLUTCH CABLE HELP - Piggy - 15-08-2014

So to humour Mr Knowitall I did the push clutch down and release thing to aparantly fix my paddle clutch judder.

I did it maybe 3/4 times.

Result??

I now have a clutch that judders AND that slips as its bite is so high its holding the clutch a little bit.

Before I swap the cable for a second hand spare I have....any ideas? Any tricks to reversing the situation??

Need a non slippy clutch for tomorrows tuning session Confused

Seems that's a tried and tested method. http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-4767.html

Maybe undo it, spray some lube down it and make sure it's properly seated and try it again?

Ive managed to strip down the adjuster and reset it enough for it to work again.

The stop bracket had also bent a little from the pedal springing up!

That shouldn't be too much trouble for a man of caliber Smile Are you absolutely sure you haven't got a dodgy mount anywhere that's amplifying any judder from the clutch you are having?

RE: CLUTCH CABLE HELP - Piggy - 15-08-2014

Quite possibly as Ive got more engine-car vibrations since doing the clutch and turbo Undecided

aNy chance you broke a fork by pinging the clutch back off?

RE: CLUTCH CABLE HELP - Paul_13 - 17-08-2014

There must be a way of keeping the pull type clutch but using an adjustable cable (like the 205 gti)
These cables only seem to cause problems.

You could convert to a push type clutch and use the 205 cable.
Means getting a 1.9 mi16 clutch cover plate, you can keep your paddle clutch. Just got to change the fork in the box to a hdi/205

RE: CLUTCH CABLE HELP - Piggy - 17-08-2014

But the hdi type doesnt hold as much torque due to the design.

I agree though...my jap cars all had two 10mm nuts to adjust it exactly how you wanted!

RE: CLUTCH CABLE HELP - Paul_13 - 17-08-2014

The 1.9mi clutch should hold more than the hdi.
People run them on 205 gti6 conversions including myself.
With a paddle clutch it should hold more

If I do anything about it...it will be a hydro job
