as per the ones above that say it fits from 1998 to 2002 models.. yours is a 2000 model which fits in that range.

The main thing you need to confirm is if the balljoints are 16mm or 18mm. The phase 3's should have 18mm balljoints on the wishbones

Re: lower arm replacement help - Mattcheese31 - 03-04-2012

if you get one with the balljoint riveted on you need to make sure you have the right size balljoint, they come in 16 and 18 mm sizes . .Smile

Ball joints have 2 different sizes though (IIRC 16 and 18mm) make sure you get the right one though!

Edit:- OK this post is a waste of fecking time since 2 people have said the same thing since I started reply...........I've written it now, so just incase you didn't get it the first 2 times lol

Re: lower arm replacement help - Mattcheese31 - 03-04-2012

yeah i writ it and forgot to post and when i did Springs sprung up . .Big Grin

Re: lower arm replacement help - samass - 03-04-2012

Yeh forgot about the ball.joints too...

Invade you didnt get it, there are two sizes, 16mm and 18mm. Yours is likely to be 18mm as its a ph3.

Re: lower arm replacement help - Niall - 03-04-2012

Almost guaranteed to be 18mm. Nice and easy to do, just 4 bolts but don't let the strut move out when the arm is off as it may pull the shaft out of the box - never good news!
Also, you will want a new pinch bolt with the ball joint

Re: lower arm replacement help - 4WayDiablo - 03-04-2012

well incase you missed it the first 4 times, youll need to watch out for the balljoints
they come in 18mm and 16mm
probably the 18mm though ThumbsUp

lower arm replacement help - Matt - 03-04-2012

Watch out for the ball joints as there are 16mm and 18mm sure yours would be 18mm though......

Big Grin

Re: lower arm replacement help - 4WayDiablo - 03-04-2012

:laughing-lettersrofl:

Re: lower arm replacement help - Grant - 03-04-2012

No seriously, you want to make sure its either the 16 or 18mm ball joint and then be sure not to let the strut flex out and cause the driveshaft to slip out of the gearbox...

Wink

Re: lower arm replacement help - cwspellowe - 03-04-2012

what's a ball joint?

Re: lower arm replacement help - samass - 03-04-2012

just below your penis. holds your balls on. pretty important to be fair, dont want the wrong size

Re: lower arm replacement help - mark_airey - 04-04-2012

:laughing-rolling:

I think that is pretty clear, and Niall makes a good point about the drive shaft and also that you need to be careful about the size of the ball joints on the lower arms.........

Re: lower arm replacement help - Ben Jay - 04-04-2012

So either 16mm or 18mm right?

Re: lower arm replacement help - londondan86 - 04-04-2012

Could someone please clarify the issue of what ball joints are needed. Still a bit unsure..........!!!

lmao
