Clutch issuses - HubbzPug - 04-08-2014 Hi guys, i'm a little confused.. i was always told that, as your clutch deteriorates the biting point rises. but lately, if i pull away pretty sharply, my biting point seems to be lower! any ideas what could be the issue??? RE: Clutch issuses - powerandtorque - 04-08-2014 Remove the clutch pedal damper/spring thing and see if that helps - they're notorious for causing issues like this. If you look from the footwell up at the clutch pedal you'll see a plastic spring thing on the side - pop this off with a screwdriver and throw it in the bin! Most 306's have auto-adjusting clutch cables so the biting point doesn't tend to change much as the clutch wears unlike older cars with conventional clutch cables. RE: Clutch issuses - HubbzPug - 04-08-2014 Thanks, i'll give that a shot Clutch issuses - jfb - 26-01-2015 Mine appears to bite when pedal gets close to floor. Bit difficult to get it into first a lot of the time but not consistently, sometimes it's fine!!! WTF , is this that spring thing behind the pedal playing up, or is my clutch or gearbox fooked? What's difference in symptoms 'tween clutch and gearbox probs? J Clutch issuses - Frosty - 26-01-2015 Best to pop the spring off and see if it improves at all |
