KO4 turbo - strictly_perv - 01-04-2012

Hi i've been offered a K04 turbo off of an Audi Tittie 225bhp.
I've heard that they can be a hybrid with a k03 so praps parts could be compatable from my k14 to help it fit into my car.
Would this turbo be a good substitute over a t25/td04?

Re: KO4 turbo - Ruan - 01-04-2012

Find out the numbers on it, post it up and i'll have a look, should be a good option though, if a little to large on the AR maybe...

Re: KO4 turbo - strictly_perv - 01-04-2012

I'll be having a look at it tomorrow hopefully and get those numbers Ruan. He said it kicked full in around 2800rpm but his engine wasn't right plus he had no pressure gauge.

Re: KO4 turbo - mark_airey - 01-04-2012

plus it was a petrol so makes no difference, you have smoke to spool it up lol I will reply to your PM now............

Re: KO4 turbo - strictly_perv - 01-04-2012

I know i'm not expecting that sorta power lol
At first I thought it was smaller than the 14 till I did some research. I'v found out that the VAG boys hyybrid them with the K03, now would this work on a k14 as I have one on my spare engine?

Re: KO4 turbo - Ruan - 01-04-2012

With a different head etc - completely non comparable...

Don't hybrid it, keep it as it is if you're going to, it shouldn't be horrendous as it's off a 1.8l... You'd want to just adapt it so you can bolt it to a K14 manifold..

Re: KO4 turbo - mark_airey - 02-04-2012

^^ this, why mess around, just bolt it on Big Grin

Here's a pic my mate sent me. Just been removed from the 1.8 T.
Minimal play he says but I will give it a good check tomorrow Smile
