Anyone want to put a bid on this sleeper, looks like a fair bodge ?

RE: Ebay beauty! - mr_fish - 23-07-2014

blatant £1 bids going to be happening.

RE: Ebay beauty! - Midnightclub - 23-07-2014

Is... Is that a side exit and quad pipes?? lol

That confused me too. My guess was the quad pipes photo is old?

It's probably salvageable but it looks rough. Look how bald the tyre is in the exhaust photo too!!

Personally I'd start with a decent base & pay the extra to ensure it was a decent job, that just looks a bit pants overall.

RE: Ebay beauty! - Grant - 23-07-2014

What a mess. Not even worth trying to save.

RE: Ebay beauty! - Dum-Dum - 23-07-2014

Cant work out where the side exit comes out from from the other photos, assuming RNS but why?

Anyway potentially that is going to be an absolute f*cking bargain of the century, yes its tatty as f*ck and massively chavvy but look at what's there, a 2.1TD 306 with a box mounted turbo.

Also TD04 turbo? wasn't one of the standard fit turbos on the 2.1TD a TD04 11g or something

RE: Ebay beauty! - Midnightclub - 23-07-2014

With the level of work they've done so far, would you really be trusting the work that went into putting that lump in it? It may be fine.. guess it depends on how much it goes for

RE: Ebay beauty! - Eeyore - 23-07-2014

jesus... thats the most hideous intercooler install ive ever seen.

RE: Ebay beauty! - bashbarnard - 23-07-2014

I wouldnt trust it at all. Specially as its a 1.4 on the log book still what else has he missed

Also no cambelt covers!!

Sometimes you really outdo yourself.

This was one of those times.

RE: Ebay beauty! - Piggy - 23-07-2014

Saxo lower springs tells me immediately he is a retard

hahaha! This!!

RE: Ebay beauty! - Jake - 23-07-2014

Don't come much more pikey than that.

RE: Ebay beauty! - procta - 23-07-2014

I wouldn't buy anything like this at all, as you don't know what the crack is build wise, has it been done properly etc, could be an half arsed conversion, also you will have the f*ck on of sorting out problems that the previous owner has caused or that they couldn't be arsed to sort. Also what history the running gear has etc too,
be best off to build your own car, as like I have done and like some of you done, that way you know the car, also its tailored to you.

RE: Ebay beauty! - toseland - 23-07-2014

half tempted to call him, as he has suggested, and ask him "what the f*ck he was thinking" lol

RE: Ebay beauty! - lolsteve - 23-07-2014

spends a fair amount of money on a 2.1 conversion but cheaps out on springs?

RE: Ebay beauty! - bigcheez2k3 - 23-07-2014

Using Saxo springs is a bad idea, surely it's even worse when you consider the extra weight of a 2.1? (assuming it weighs more than the 1.9)

RE: Ebay beauty! - Piggy - 23-07-2014

it does weigh a fair bit more. I am struggling to keep the front end from smashing off the floor on bumpy roads with GTi6 eibach -30mm springs on bilstein b4s. must be shocking on those springs. complete retard. td04 wont do much for that lump either....esp with extra lag of being gearbox mounted

RE: Ebay beauty! - toseland - 23-07-2014

35kg to be exact between the 1.9 anmd 2.1

RE: Ebay beauty! - martyn92 - 23-07-2014

Everything looks a massive bodge... Wonder how long that cambelt will last hanging on there aswell haha!

Looks pretty well shined up, gotta be needing a change sooner rather than later.

There is that but I first noticed the position of it!

RE: Ebay beauty! - silverzx - 24-07-2014

I'm tempted.

Change the suspension, exhaust, lights. Matt black it.

Car was diablo before by looks of it.

RE: Ebay beauty! - Midnightclub - 24-07-2014

Really doesn't look low enough to have a 2.1 in the front and be on 60mm saxo springs... I've seen dt's (1.9) with saxo springs and they're normally SLAMMED

RE: Ebay beauty! - RetroPug - 24-07-2014

By the time you have replaced everything: lights, bonnet, suspension etc., plus done all of the maintenance that it almost certainly needs, eg. cambelt, brakes, leaks, cooling, servicing, then re-route the FMIC install etc. You are going to have spent quite a lot of money that could have just bought you a good 306.

This is assuming that the engine has been put in properly and a million other things don't start breaking due to horrendous workmanship.

Avoid it like the plague that it is.

However, if you have a field and a shovel/digger, and this car is cheap, you should buy it and drive it over epic jumps and coal everywhere until it falls to pieces, then put the engine in a good 306.

Now that I would like to see... Hmm. Idea
