Bosch pump issues - Matt - 17-07-2014 Since putting the Bosch on, it will fire on 3 cylinders on startup then give it 10/15seconds it will then run on 4. Cracked the lines, bled it all off, exactly the same Couple of things. Pump a tooth out- would this do it on start up only? Surely continuous? Advanced/retarded? - as above Air in fuel on start up? Dodgy injectors? Just a few ideas RE: Bosch pump issues - WiNgNuTz - 17-07-2014 Im no expert, but out of the options you've suggested, I'd be inclined to think air in the lines...maybe check fuel filter housing? RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 17-07-2014 Hmm I'm thinking it'll be something that was disturbed while changing pump, like leak offs? There is a slight leak on the pump somewhere as there is veg down the front looks to be coming from the drivers side of the pump, around the top half, where there banjo is.... RE: Bosch pump issues - WiNgNuTz - 17-07-2014 Banjo? RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 17-07-2014 Hahha douche! Fuel banjo well looks like a banjo RE: Bosch pump issues - WiNgNuTz - 18-07-2014 Yeah I know what you meant, just gave me a good excuse to get the duelling banjos out though. RE: Bosch pump issues - ginge191 - 18-07-2014 Sticky injector RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 18-07-2014 You sure? And how would I cure this? RE: Bosch pump issues - ginge191 - 18-07-2014 Rebuild injector or replace. If you're ever down, we can swap it over. Find out then. But sounds like that's your problem. Sorry, all injectors are getting fuel when you crack the union, right? RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 18-07-2014 Yep all injectors are getting fuel, they all worked previously, but where sat for a couple of months RE: Bosch pump issues - aggyj17 - 18-07-2014 I was getting this issue when on veg. Now I'm running diesel it's fine RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 18-07-2014 I've never had this issue running in veg before, it's only this pump/injectors that's done it, last one was fine RE: Bosch pump issues - aggyj17 - 18-07-2014 Hmm. Maybe I have the same problem as you then lol. Ive only had this pump on hopefully my 11mm is fine when that goes on. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 18-07-2014 When I ran it on diesel it was a little iffy, but with the veg it is aloft more obvious. Obviously it's harder to start with veg + the running problem = chronic smoke out the back RE: Bosch pump issues - ginge191 - 18-07-2014 Yeh, my bet is injectors. Easy enough fix. I've got a full set sat here we can try when you're down RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 18-07-2014 Sweet man, will probably be in the next week or two. Also if you need anything from the mainland bringing over let me know RE: Bosch pump issues - ginge191 - 18-07-2014 shall do ta x RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 18-07-2014 No worries RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 24-07-2014 Haven't touched it really since this started happening, but it developed some weird issues. Wouldn't rev, will start go into gear and hold revs, anything past 2k is a no go. Like I can rev happily to 2k, foot flat to the floor, will stay at 2kish. Every gear. Did this for about 10miles, then slowly started picking up revs/speed. Constantly feels like pump is about to give up, feels exactly the same as when there is no fuel in the tank, juddering along, won't rev, cuts out at junctions, Swear an xud isn't meant to be this hard to run? RE: Bosch pump issues - Piggy - 24-07-2014 have you checked the obvious....fuel filter??....and in tank pikcup? RE: Bosch pump issues - mr_fish - 24-07-2014 Sounds like timing to me either that or the pump is upset internally. As piggy said, is the strainer and fuel filter ok? RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 24-07-2014 I think it's very upset internally, feels gov related which would stop it revving? I put diesel in instead of veg and it started making some difference in revs but no idea on that one. Filter as in clogged? Doubt it would be that, only ran veg for a couple of k I that but I'll check In tank pick up? How to I check? RE: Bosch pump issues - PartyJas - 24-07-2014 When i started running Veg oil in my transit van the fuel filter choked up in under 100 miles. Wouldn't rev past 2500 RPM. My bet is that's your problem. Veg oil is really effective at stripping all the crud from your fuel system. RE: Bosch pump issues - bashbarnard - 24-07-2014 True some people dont even make that. I started running veg im on just over 100 miles and still ok. Its luck of draw. Check the filter RE: Bosch pump issues - Piggy - 24-07-2014 lift back seats, pull carpet back, pull up rubber grommet, remove securing ring, lift out pickup (will have fuel in) and check the strainer, but I rekon a new filter maybe all it needs RE: Bosch pump issues - Curt - 24-07-2014 Also need to sort out that leak... That isn't going to be doing any favours especially if it's drawing in air. Fuel filter is a good idea too, you've only been running veg for a bit but you don't know when it was last changed... RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 24-07-2014 Fair point, fuel filter first, and that leak, god. I have no idea where to even start looking, it's got a little worse but still no clear point of leak. Somewhere around the banjo. Or the entire top is leaking RE: Bosch pump issues - Curt - 24-07-2014 I think it is tbh. See if Sam will help you take it apart, clean it up and put it back together with a bit of sealant? RE: Bosch pump issues - toseland - 24-07-2014 did anyone check the glowplug down the back of the pump? thats the main culprit for "things wot got broke" when fitting the new pump... is it still firing up like the rest? RE: Bosch pump issues - Matt - 24-07-2014 Hmm haven't checked that glow plug, will have a look. Thinking about it the fuel filter will cause my revving issue. By my starting issue has been there from the begining, like first time I started it it didn't sound like it was running on all four Need it looked at by the weekend, I've looked and can't see what's wrong myself. I'll see what Sam is working but he's probably quite busy, as is Jonny normally. I'll see what mincers are about to have a poke. I'm almost about to rip the thing back off |
