Bilstein - Nicks306 - 14-07-2014

Hi
Could anybody tell me if these are worth getting? There off ebay but i really wanna get shot of my ta technix coilovers now. [Image: yqe8yvuv.jpg]

RE: Bilstein - powerandtorque - 14-07-2014

They're basically replacements for standard dampers - they work well, but they're not really a significant "upgrade" like the more expensive Bilstein's.

Almost certainly far better for road use than cheap coilovers mind you!

RE: Bilstein - cully - 14-07-2014

are they B4's?
if so they are OEM replacements, Bilstein list them as 30% uprated over std
effectively they are std

Bilstein - Nicks306 - 14-07-2014

I was going to say there £219.00 but that seems cheap for a set of bilstein. I could imagine they are better than ta's tho so much noise from cheap coilies plus i dont want them to do any damage to anything else.
Don't think there B4's well it doesn't state that they are.
What do you think i should do then??

RE: Bilstein - cully - 14-07-2014

ask the seller what they are?
post a link here

RE: Bilstein - powerandtorque - 14-07-2014

They are B4's - easily distinguished by them being black in colour and having the normal style damper shafts.

B8's etc are yellow and have inverted inserts so the damper shaft you can see is much thicker.

Hmmm well what do you guys think then im new to all bilstein.

Heres the link for them

RE: Bilstein - Mattcheese31 - 14-07-2014

i've got B4's on the front of mine, nice little upgrade from standard . .Smile

RE: Bilstein - Niall - 14-07-2014

Yeah i had B4s before upgrading to B8s. Top bit of kit for the money and well worth it imo.

Bilstein - Nicks306 - 14-07-2014

Brilliant thanks for the advice Smile
ill sell off the coilovers then and get these!
Ta-tecnix coilovers for sale if anybody interested Wink aha!

RE: Bilstein - Alan_M - 15-07-2014

Don't know what springs those are, but MotorsportWorld are selling B4 fronts for £41 each, rears £40 each and a set of Eibachs for £128. All in for £250 plus £10 P&P.

I fitted new Xsara VTS B4s to mine, slightly lower than the 306 B4s with std VTS springs. Very happy with it.

RE: Bilstein - cully - 15-07-2014

Good point actually wonder what springs they actually are??
Do eibach only do 30mm need 40 really..

RE: Bilstein - miles - 15-07-2014

Got my front B4's and Eibach's listed in the for sale section

RE: Bilstein - RetroPug - 18-07-2014

For the sake of not starting a new thread...are B4s as nice of a ride as standard? Standard dampers actually absorb bumps etc. really well for the class of vehicle!

RE: Bilstein - zx_volcane - 18-07-2014

B4 are great for an oem replacement - have had them on 3 cars now, would deffo reccomend. pair them with some 16v springs or eibachs.

Even B8 + eibach springs glide over everything, anyone thats been in my car recently can testify how well it rides over speedbumps :p

RE: Bilstein - MisterGTR - 01-09-2014

Nick did you get B4's and Eibach Springs? Just asking to see how you got on with them.

RE: Bilstein - adam b - 01-09-2014

I'd go B8 + eibach front, B6 + 21mm bars and a hybrid arb in the rear.

Is that road or track set up?

RE: Bilstein - powerandtorque - 01-09-2014

Road and light trackwork - I've got a similar setup on my 306 and it works very well indeed.
