clever Tech in todays cars - cully - 11-07-2014 well as you do following you tube crap i came across a Hyundai advert well im impressed with the advert but also more impressed with today's technology available in cars Stuntmen Abandon Their Cars In Hyundai’s Empty Car Convoy http://www.autosessive.com/blog/news/car-news/stuntmen-abandon-their-cars-in-hyundais-empty-car-convoy-2/?utm_source=mailchimp&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=exhaust30-14-july RE: clever Tech in todays cars - WiNgNuTz - 11-07-2014 That is pretty smart tbh, but it's another system to go wrong imo! ![]() RE: clever Tech in todays cars - toseland - 11-07-2014 RE: clever Tech in todays cars - Ruan - 11-07-2014 Love volvo but their autobrake system that you can turn off is lolworthy... They demonstrated it working by pointing it at a truck, but accidentally turned the system off... And just crashed into the truck... Just proves, humans are more stupid than you can ever imagine!! Does your Volvo have the V50 emergency brake assist? Jesus when i tested that i nearly went through the windscreen.. i never knew the car could brake that hard. RE: clever Tech in todays cars - Ruan - 12-07-2014 It's got EBA yeah, all of them had it - the brakes are pretty f*cking violent anyway, but if you accidentally rip your foot off the loud pedal and go quick for the brakes, EBA cuts in, and it can be a bit insane - eyeballs on the dashboard stuff... In fairness it's the only car I've come across that even though the brakes are 300mm, on a hot dry day it'll still struggle to lock the wheels, it's got an insane amount of mechanical grip! RE: clever Tech in todays cars - Niall - 12-07-2014 Lol the Mazda '4x4' had a similar system except it basically works when it likes. Helpful that! RE: clever Tech in todays cars - Ruan - 12-07-2014 TBF mine only does it if you do actually mean it... You've got to give a pretty good stamp on the pedal to make it do it... I don't think I've ever had it happen unexpectedly.. Usual one is when someone opens the door on you whilst driving through a town... Hit the brakes then and you WILL go through the windscreen. RE: clever Tech in todays cars - toseland - 12-07-2014 I never used mine in anger, but long straight roads.. mine had the 18inch alloys on and I loved it.. could throw it into the roundabout at 40, the light would go haywire and you would live hah. |
