So its been voted for...so how is this going to affect you?

Re: Fuel Strikes - ginge191 - 26-03-2012

I've made a confident decision to rn 90/10 veg for the rest of the year until it gets cold again.

With the duty and tax on the fuel prices, it's disgusting... i'm more than happy to go to court for it, and in all honesty find the corruption of this government is rediculous.

wait, so they tax you if you use veg as a fuel? how could they possibly police that?

Re: Fuel Strikes - Toby - 26-03-2012

The tax free allowance for veg is 2500 litres per year.

You are right though Samass, it's difficult for them to monitor usage.

Re: Fuel Strikes - samass - 26-03-2012

ah well, i get taxed to buggery for petrol... atm ninja

Re: Fuel Strikes - Toby - 26-03-2012

The other nice thing about veg is that if you buy from a wholesaler, you generally don't pay VAT either..

Sticking it to the taxman

EDIT: Ignore this, you don't pay VAT on oil regardless....

Re: Fuel Strikes - devils_fuel - 26-03-2012

Re: Fuel Strikes - WiNgNuTz - 26-03-2012

Cant those of us still on a lucas use something like a 50/50 mix? Or am i way off the mark there?

Re: Fuel Strikes - Niall - 26-03-2012

Well I use about 100 quids worth of diesel a week and can only fill up at shell and total garages.....could get interesting.

unfortunatly the way the pump works they dont take veg well at all and would be risky to run some through

Re: Fuel Strikes - declantg - 26-03-2012

so it would kill my pump if i ran veg?

Re: Fuel Strikes - 4WayDiablo - 26-03-2012

if you run a lucas pump then yes you would kill it but when you would kill it noone really knows they dont take it well but could last 1k miles could last 1 mile lol

Easter weekend 6th iirc?

Re: Fuel Strikes - KrisB - 26-03-2012

Veg FTW. I'm on veg. 80/20 mix, keep receipts to prove i do actually put diesel in.

Im using sunflower at the moment, seems better than veg. with 20% V-power diesel. Tesco EXPRESS sell it, but not all of them i dont think. Ive tried 4 but only one sold it. 2 x 5L bottles for a tenner. But, i've just found out my neighbours got a Bookers card Smile

KrisB Wrote:Veg FTW. I'm on veg. 80/20 mix, keep receipts to prove i do actually put diesel in.
Smile

also remember it is not 2500l of veg you can use! unless you are running 100%

it is 2500l of the new fuel you mix!
ie: 50/50 mix = 30ltrs veg+30ltrs diesel = "60ltrs" from the 2500ltr allawance

you have to keep records of both derv and veg for 5years!

Re: Fuel Strikes - 4WayDiablo - 26-03-2012

Bookers are only at about 19 quid for 20l
Edit and thats veg not sunflower

Re: Fuel Strikes - Toms306 - 26-03-2012

Do you get less power And less mpg with Veg BTW? Just something my tutor said last week and I wasn't sure if its right? Obviously the cost easily covers lower mpg, I get that, but less power?

Re: Fuel Strikes - 4WayDiablo - 26-03-2012

Yep i get less power and mpg on 100 veg but only about 10%on each
