banded steelies sizes - Scouse282 - 25-05-2014

Looking at getting some banded steelies in the near future and was wondering what sizes work best for 306's ?
Im after a flush fit to the arches Smile

I would also like to know this, i think if you get standard 15" steels and band them to 8j wide with a bit if arch rolling works (this is what ive heard). But yet to have more info on this.

Buy steels, test fit, measure and decide for yourself would be the best way to do it

Doesnt really work like that as the et is determined by tje original et and band width

yes but the company doing the banding will know enough about wheels to make them to that required spec i'd have thought

surley the standard et stays the same, because they are only extending the bead of the wheel, hence the bigger dish

Hmmm no lol

They could only fix the offset AND width by adding bands inside and outside the wheel face.

Offset doesn't work like that will, it's the distance from mating face to centreline, which will change if you add a band on one side of the mating face.

Yes they could band the inside too. And who said et0 was ideal anyway, its all preference, use willtheyfit.com and work it out

RE: banded steelies sizes - willJspears - 27-05-2014

ahh i see, you learn something new everyday Wink i read this somewhere.... "When working out the offset for a banded steel, for every inch you add to the width, you subtract 12.5 from the offset". is this at all relative?

RE: banded steelies sizes - John1.4 - 27-05-2014

if you banded an inch on either side of the rim, it'd be 2inches wider total, and the offset wouldn't change at all

but if you added only to the outside (normally what people want) then yes

I run 8.5j front and 9j rear 15s and mine poke loads standard 306 steels before I think or peugeot partner can't remember now.
