coolant overflow - rd070707 - 23-05-2014 Hi guys my hdi has had problems since I had my cambelt and water pump changed 6 months ago. It blew the seal off two header tank caps before we realised the oil in the coolant was due to oil cooler failure. So changed that and flushed the radiator and its been better since. But it still leaks a tiny amount out the overflow after a long drive. I think the seal is going on this cap too but the question is why does it keep blowing the seal? Car runs perfectly and has never overheated Re: coolant overflow - kentiiboii - 23-05-2014 Either the cap is knackered. But are you sure you've bled the system properly. Use a bottle of coke im the header tank and open the bleed nipple on the matrix pipes and keep pouring till water pours out. RE: coolant overflow - rd070707 - 23-05-2014 Yeah bud thats exactly how i bled it. It will be the cap what im just not sure is why? It was brand new pug item 6 a couple of months ago. Reminants of oil maybe? |
