RE: farecla g3 - daniel909 - 18-05-2014

That what I used on my phase one and look how that came out
I would say it good Smile

RE: farecla g3 - willJspears - 18-05-2014

ahhh, didnt realise this was the stuff you had. may have to get myself a tub then

RE: farecla g3 - Kezzieboy - 18-05-2014

Really good as a scratch remover, got some pretty deep marks out with it, but you need something less course to go over it with again ideally really. It's pretty harsh stuff.

RE: farecla g3 - willJspears - 18-05-2014

yeah just using it as a scratch remover due to having a few deep scratches and scuffs around the car. got some autoglym aqua wax for full body polishing on the way

RE: farecla g3 - Kezzieboy - 18-05-2014

Urm...wax and polish are different things dude.

RE: farecla g3 - willJspears - 18-05-2014

haha, when i say polish i mean make the the car nice and shiny Tongue whether using wax or polish

RE: farecla g3 - Slam Wagon - 18-05-2014

Again wax and polish not wax or polish, theyre different things.

/facepalm. you can tell i dont clean my car much

RE: farecla g3 - Kezzieboy - 18-05-2014

You need to get a lighter polish (I use Autoglym SRP, but should really have something between that and G3), and then a wax (I use poorboys Natty's Blue)

RE: farecla g3 - Slam Wagon - 18-05-2014

There are loads of good detailing forums around, all of which will have a guide for how to do a basic detail. Read through them, pick your products and then give it a go.

A proper detail is much more than a quick rub down with a couple of bottles. A basic wash followed by super resin polish and a wax should give some improvement though.

RE: farecla g3 - willJspears - 18-05-2014

okay, cheers for the info, as stated before i don't really clean my car all that often, being the roads as dirty as they are round my area. so anything is an improvement

RE: farecla g3 - Slam Wagon - 18-05-2014

A good wax to seal it well makes a big difference when you next clean it.

RE: farecla g3 - Curt - 18-05-2014

There's better stuff out there. As I said in another thread, it's more for fresh paintwork and it's very harsh. You need to lubricate it if using it with a machine, whereas you can buy ones with lubricant already in them. I use 3 stages of Menzerna and then Dodo Juice Blue Velvet. Always apply wax after, whatever you use. When you use polish you strip away all the protection on the paint.

If you're doing it properly you'll also want to clay the car first as well.

RE: farecla g3 - willJspears - 18-05-2014

so i would only use the farecla g3 on scratches to buff them out a bit. and then give the rest of the car a wax? due to the farecla being a bit course

RE: farecla g3 - Curt - 18-05-2014

I would just get something different anyway. Other compounds do remove scratches too...

I use dodo blue velvet as well. Fairly expensive but does a really nice job and smells absolutely amazing!

Curt, what Menzerna products do you use? My car is in desperate need of a deep clean and I'm bloody useless with detailing lol.

RE: farecla g3 - Andy annear - 18-05-2014

claying will probably make more of a difference than anything dude, ideally without spending loads you wanna wash, clay, wash, dry, polish, wax. A decent wax shud last as well if you dont use harsh soap when washing it, Autoglym HD wax is decent, halfords sometime have a special on as well.

I'm a big fan of their stuff, you saw the results I got on the Audi. I'm amazed at what it can achieve.
