Clutch problem - LewisG - 11-05-2014 Okay So Ive been having a little bit of trouble with my clutch pedal. I was looking through this http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-11543.html I went to look at my pedal to see If I could remove this spring and all I saw was this. What I did was remove the end of the spring so its not on the pedal I had a little feel without the spring just pulling away a few times, It feels alot lighter and doesnt stick. Now the spring just hangs there doing nothing I dont know if I should leave it, I cant see how you remove it like you do on the thread and also it looks nothing like the spring on the thread. What you all think? RE: Clutch problem - Slam Wagon - 11-05-2014 Thats not the same spring as the other thread. Not sure what you've done. What trouble are you having with your pedal? Maybe its already been removed? I dont know. The trouble Im having is sometimes it gets stuck sort of thing. Basically when im pulling away, only ever when I pull away sometimes its smooth but other times it gets stuck sort of thing so I let the pedal up more and the car just shoots off sometimes nearly stalling Could this possibly be some sort of new design on some models? RE: Clutch problem - Slam Wagon - 11-05-2014 Mines an 02, so as new as they come really. Still had the spring in there so design hasnt changed. Tried the clutch cable? That would be the most likely thing to cause sticking, they tend to dry up. RE: Clutch problem - LewisG - 11-05-2014 (11-05-2014, 05:56 PM)PE02KHG Wrote: Mines an 02, so as new as they come really. Found a few on google images that are the same aswell. What is that spring ive taken off the pedal then? RE: Clutch problem - Slam Wagon - 11-05-2014 Clutch cable is my only guess. Tried lubing the pedal just make sure thats not sticking at all, also tried some lube on the arm that the cable hooks on. Without taking the box off thats as much as you can do. Not a clue what that spring is im afraid. RE: Clutch problem - LewisG - 11-05-2014 (11-05-2014, 06:05 PM)PE02KHG Wrote: Clutch cable is my only guess. Ill give it ago, is that the return spring? Thats makes the pedal come back up? RE: Clutch problem - Slam Wagon - 11-05-2014 Not sure. Service box should tell you. RE: Clutch problem - Danny2009 - 11-05-2014 You tried pushing pedal all way to floor and slipping your foot off the side a few times? Usually frees up the adjuster RE: Clutch problem - LewisG - 11-05-2014 Ill try that aswell thanks. I better put that spring back on lol according to the service box diagram it doesnt exist lol RE: Clutch problem - titch - 11-05-2014 It is on service , pt no : 2148 40 it is just called clutch pedal spring. But the spring on mine isnt on the diagram RE: Clutch problem - titch - 11-05-2014 RE: Clutch problem - LewisG - 11-05-2014 (11-05-2014, 08:18 PM)titch Wrote: Oh right Well I get a different diagram and I put in my VIN. What model is yours then? RE: Clutch problem - titch - 11-05-2014 2.0 hdi meridan 2001 X reg RE: Clutch problem - LewisG - 11-05-2014 (11-05-2014, 08:21 PM)titch Wrote: 2.0 hdi meridan 2001 X reg Mines the same but 2000 X reg. So do you think that spring is the same thing but a different design? RE: Clutch problem - LewisG - 12-05-2014 Well I tried pushing the pedal down then slipping my foot off the side but now the biting point is right at the top, now when I change gear because the biting point is so high the engine revs lol RE: Clutch problem - Seb_Ryan - 12-05-2014 By revs do you mean slipping? As in revs go up speed doesn't? How old is your clutch, RE: Clutch problem - LewisG - 12-05-2014 Clutch is 2 months old. No it's the revs but it's because the biting point is right at the top RE: Clutch problem - Kwik - 12-05-2014 clutch fork bearings I would say RE: Clutch problem - LewisG - 12-05-2014 I've noticed it only sticks when I've been driving for a while The cable seems to have sorted itself out the biting point is better RE: Clutch problem - DazzaHDI - 12-05-2014 As saft as it sounds you sure it's not just your mat? I've got two, the one on top is a shitty thing and slides forward and sometimes that gets stuck up the back of my pedals and makes driving a nightmare!! |
