Project Cruise Ship - devils_fuel - 08-05-2014 I've just picked up my new chariot, there will be a lot of haters out there as it's a marmite car... I missed the motorway junction coming home but it wasn't an issue as I wanted to see the mpg in 6th . Tom get ready...65 It's quiet and a place you really want to be.. The reason I bought it: 80.5k FSH (lower than average) 136bhp hdi 3 owners 4 doors and big boot Everything electric worked - it has an electric boot release on the remote Very comfortable/quiet relaxing place you want to be. Xenons Economical due to 6 speed Very clean underneath Cheapish r/tax Cheap insurance considering Not so good: Typical pug...aircon not working - I will get it pressure tested, if not holding pressure it's most likely the £1k+ common problem Road tax ends this month He wanted £3k and I paid £2.7k which I thought was a good deal Here ya go...cover your eyes.. Does this fit in here? .. - DavidA - 08-05-2014 Nice. 407 ? There's a guy at work with the coupe version and that looks pretty tidy too. The build quality is not too bad actually..no rattles or squeaks Only 4 door salon I liked for £3k with 80k, FSH, sensible insurance and good mpg's I've read on a 407 forum they can be mapped up to 195 bhp easily and good mpg's RE: Does this fit in here? .. - Scott - 09-05-2014 Not bad at all mate good to see you're sticking around! RE: Does this fit in here? .. - silverzx - 09-05-2014 Well done, it took a while but you finally sorted something! Does this fit in here? .. - devils_fuel - 09-05-2014 Thanks Scott Yeah Trent finally lol, I finally found (hopefully) a good car with an honest seller and an honest reason for selling lol I will take you out in the derv coach soon, it's very comfy RE: Does this fit in here? .. - Uberderv - 09-05-2014 Nice Does this fit in here? .. - devils_fuel - 09-05-2014 Thanks mate RE: Does this fit in here? .. - Danny2009 - 09-05-2014 And here's me thinking we've got rid of you Nice cars tbf I like them RE: Does this fit in here? .. - 7057sam - 09-05-2014 Looks good mate Wats the plan??? I may think about a lip spoiler for the boot though.. RE: Does this fit in here? .. - Danny2009 - 09-05-2014 That grill is crying for a big front mount RE: Does this fit in here? .. - Tom - 09-05-2014 Always need remaps! Does this fit in here? .. - devils_fuel - 09-05-2014 It's got a vertical front mount lol Maybe a little more poke Tom I've just looked at the sports mesh grills..£96 !!! RE: Does this fit in here? .. - Dum-Dum - 10-05-2014 Well hurry up and map it then! RE: Does this fit in here? .. - procta - 10-05-2014 tom will blow his juices when he reads the mpg!! Ha ha hope not on my car Project Cruise Ship - devils_fuel - 21-05-2014 I have bought my first shiney for the car, just waiting for it to be delivered Non-genuine Mesh grilles for 407's are over £100 and genuine SP's are £150+ I found one on the bay and paid £27 inc p&p It hopefully will help it look less like a wide mouthed frog and slightly more sporty, just need to get body coloured bump strips A quick chat with Ruan last week confirmed that mapping it is not that simple or cheap RE: Project Cruise Ship - Eeyore - 21-05-2014 The clutches on these are dual mass arent they? A friend had one and it cost a bomb to replace! Re: RE: Project Cruise Ship - Seb_Ryan - 21-05-2014 (21-05-2014, 09:09 PM)SRowell Wrote: The clutches on these are dual mass arent they? Flywheel not clutch lol, and yeah they ain't cheap.. you can put convert to single mass on most cars, but puts extra strain on gearboxes etc Project Cruise Ship - devils_fuel - 22-05-2014 (21-05-2014, 09:09 PM)SRowell Wrote: The clutches on these are dual mass arent they? A friend had one and it cost a bomb to replace! On further investigation I was advised not to tune it as I will probably get DMF issues The fly wheel The starter Possibly the Clutch Possibly crankshaft oil seal Are the issues that need to be addressed with DMF issues I don't want gearbox issues as it's a 6 speed RE: Project Cruise Ship - ozonehostile - 22-05-2014 Is this one of the newer pugs unfortunate enough to have Siemens engine management? Project Cruise Ship - devils_fuel - 22-05-2014 Probably mate, it starts and drives..not had a proper nosey under the hood yet lol RE: Project Cruise Ship - bashbarnard - 22-05-2014 Gearboxs aint to bad to do on them tbh with you. Done a few duel masses to when I worked for pug. You just have to remove front hakf of subframe. It splits in two with about 8 easy to get to bolts. Chuck a solid one on there be carefulk not to dump the clutch and your away. Also if it has dpf. Remove knock centre out and get it wrote out system while u have ure remao done Project Cruise Ship - devils_fuel - 22-05-2014 If I remove the dpf do I not run in to issues at MOT time with the emissions as they are very strict with new derv's, hence the dpf ? RE: Project Cruise Ship - bashbarnard - 22-05-2014 The new derv limit is only applicable after 2008 and even without a dpf they pass. Trust me. Im a tester too they must have one fitted but who says u can knock the centre out. RE: Project Cruise Ship - graebob - 22-05-2014 DPF regs are a visual inspection, so you can remove the centre. To my knowledge, VOSA are cracking down on the people doing the remapping to remove the fault codes, rather than people removing the DPFs themselves. RE: Project Cruise Ship - bashbarnard - 22-05-2014 Also vosa arnt vosa anynore they have merged with the dvla and are now the dvsa. So long as ure car looks like it has a dpf and passes emmisions. No problems RE: Project Cruise Ship - devils_fuel - 22-05-2014 thanks chaps i will go and read the regs then, i was just to lazy RE: Project Cruise Ship - procta - 22-05-2014 devs just do as the lads say and stop been a fanny |
