HDI ticking noise from passenger airbag - Potta_91 - 02-05-2014
Hi all I got a hdi at the weekend and every time I turn the key I'm getting a ticking noise coming from behind the passenger airbag on the dash... It goes off after about 10 seconds...Anyone know what it could be thanks

Interior fan recirc flap in the heater box. Mine does the same albeit very quietly.

Is that for sure? I was told it was the air con needing re-gassing - is there a way to stop it? Mines really loud and very annoying and i dont want to re-gas it as i never use the a/c

No its not the AC. Who ever told you that is speaking rubbish. Its the recirc flap motor which I'm sure you could remove and refurbish but thats a dash out job so i wouldn't bother personally.

I had a play around with my fans today and it seems to kick in at medium speed with the car circulation button on as well as when the ignition is on and the car is started seems to be getting worse and is a royal pain in the backside, is there no easy way of fixing this? like maybe unplugging the damn thing??? its driving me barmy!
