Front suspension problem - Welshy_Pete - 24-04-2014 The car started leaning to one side a little bit but didn't take much notice as thought I was seeing things lol. But then a few people recently said the car leaning on one side. I had a look today and its clearly leaning more now. I had a look on the back its fine but the front passenger side fine to. The front driver side the shock and spring was right up compressed. I went over a speed hump and it knocked it back out again. But the car still on a slight slant but far less than the picture. NEW UPDATE, I have checked the spring its not broken. So is it the shock or spring or both? thanks RE: Front suspension problem - ConorTRG - 24-04-2014 Check the spring theres probably a bit broke of it, a shock wont cause a difference in height. RE: Front suspension problem - daveylennon93 - 24-04-2014 Unless the shoks fooked. RE: Front suspension problem - Matt - 24-04-2014 Christ that looks pissed, I'd say snapped spring RE: Front suspension problem - Welshy_Pete - 25-04-2014 Thanks for the advice. So really I need to change both springs on each side if changing one. I was looking at 2 kyb springs with 2 year warranty including p&p £43 those any good? Is there any others I should be looking at to? RE: Front suspension problem - Toms306 - 25-04-2014 Are the shocks leaking at all? Personally I'd change the complete strut to save hassle. RE: Front suspension problem - Rippthrough - 25-04-2014 Snapped spring, or possibly damper that's pissed all the oil out and sticking. There no leaks on the shock. RE: Front suspension problem - Welshy_Pete - 26-04-2014 I have had a good look today and the spring not broken. RE: Front suspension problem - daddyfixit - 26-04-2014 if the springs not bust, then the shock absorber piston is getting stuck.....new shockies time !! RE: Front suspension problem - cully - 26-04-2014 anti rol bar could of slid along the bush's RE: Front suspension problem - daveylennon93 - 26-04-2014 Arb bushes are groved in the brackets. Doubt it would make a big diference like that anyway. Take the strut apart and see is the shock alryt. Front suspension problem - Razorback_Rob - 28-04-2014 I had this on my hdi. Replacing stock suspension for coilovers sorted mine so I'm guessing that was my problem, both shocks were knackered so I guess that's my problem. Was on a right lurch! RE: Front suspension problem - Welshy_Pete - 09-02-2015 I have put my fingers and felt all the way around the spring and its all in one piece. I jacked the car up to do this. So the spring has not snapped so it must be the shock? When I stop harsh the front end of the car passenger side goes up and down but driver side stays solid? Could it be a weak spring? The only thing it could be driver side shock gone? RE: Front suspension problem - Welshy_Pete - 10-02-2015 I might get some gas shocks what do you think? |
