Aircon - LewisG - 23-04-2014

Does anyone on here have air con that works?

RE: Aircon - cully - 23-04-2014

yup mine works

cool ah!

RE: Aircon - Toms306 - 23-04-2014

Yeah! Well, 2 of mine had working AC lol...out of all 12. Confused And tbf that was 3 years ago as well!

I miss air con though, and pollen filters, especially at this time of year! Sad

RE: Aircon - Poodle - 24-04-2014

Nope, have ripped out a fair few systems that didn't work though lol.

RE: Aircon - LewisG - 24-04-2014

I want to get it working but don't know where to start

RE: Aircon - londondan86 - 24-04-2014

Get the system pressure tested first before wasting money on a regas if there is a leak

RE: Aircon - jamesgmg - 24-04-2014

Mine passes the vacuum test, but it stops working about 3 months after being filled. This isn't quite enough time to get a cheap winter refill dammit!

RE: Aircon - Alan_M - 24-04-2014

It was fully functional last time I drove the car (about a month ago - off road for VTS beam/VTS B4s all round, clutch and remap).

RE: Aircon - DeeTurbo - 24-04-2014

Mine has always worked as I wash out the grills when I clean the car.

It's the salt in winter that rots out the condenser. Also if you don't have the engine tray the bottom ally pipes rot especially where the P clips are, salt get in there and stays to rot the pipe.

RE: Aircon - LewisG - 24-04-2014

I'm going to book it in at alpinairs and go from there.

RE: Aircon - Toms306 - 24-04-2014

Bet the lower pipes will be broken on yours Lewis, have a look at them, you'll usually see the green dye leaked from them. I haven't seen any good ones for a while lol. It was a daft idea putting ally pipes in steel mounts! That said, the condensers do also fail, only takes a light front end bump to bend them like a banana lol.
