New Guy - Jama - 23-04-2014

Hello All.

Thought I would introduce myself.

My main car is a 1983 2.0S capri (now a 2.1).
Which I have been restoring and driving for 5 years.
I have come to the point where it needs to be off the road for a few days at a time, as I am on a university placement next year I need a daily drive.

I have always like the 306 as a shape.
So on Sunday I picked up a 1999 1.6 Ph3 Meridian in silver for the nice sum of £300
The only issues being the drivers windows doesn't work (door loom), and a loose baffle in one of the silencers.

Since collecting it on Sunday I have done quite a bit to it to improve my day to day drive.

It has had a full service (oil, oil filter, plugs, air filter, fuel filter)
I fitted some generic alloys that I had laying about 4x108 pcd is shared with ford.
I have fitted some fli 6.5" coaxial speakers in the rear shelf.
I have put some Hertz DSK components in the front doors (sound amazing)
I have run amp wiring with speaker return.
There is a 10" slim Rockford Fosgate sub fitted and all the speakers are amped.
All done in 2 days.

I do need a drivers side door loom so if anyone had one for sale can you let me know Smile

Here are a few pictures.
One of when I picked up the 306 and a few of the capri.

Welcome to the forum Hello
capri brings back memories, very nice

RE: New Guy - Jama - 23-04-2014

Thanks guys.

It was my first car, I learnt to drive in it when I was 17 and has served me well.
It is currently having wide arches and huge dish weller wheels fitted.

Welcome to the club. Not too much you can do with the 1.6 but should be fun none the less! The capri looks epic. Always wanted one!

Thanks.

I know not much can be done to the 1.6.
It is really just for a commuting car so I don't want to hurt the mpg or comfort.
It was mainly just a service and a nice high SQ install with a small sub.

For driving fun and power there is the capri, the engine is from a stock car, the power doesn't come in till 3000RPM and its good to about 7.5-8K.
Plus the noise Smile, on the over-run it burbles and pops like no other 4cyl.

Thanks.

When i get a few minutes I will transfer some of my build log to a thread on here.
Here is another teaser of what is planned for it.
A pair of freshly rebuilt Weber 45 DCOEs.
I'm not even going to thing about an MPG figure Wink
