caliper colour?? - Piggy - 21-04-2014 Not sure now, after kinda knowing due to having the paint, about my brake calipers being blue. That was always the plan for some reason, but now Im not sure, Im thinking either bright yellow or black. Thoughts? Oh and FYI, new wheels on, calipers will be seen, and new wheels are painted Cossack grey RE: caliper colour?? - Curt - 21-04-2014 Moonstone RE: caliper colour?? - Grant - 21-04-2014 Yellow FTW. RE: caliper colour?? - Kezzieboy - 22-04-2014 On your car, silver. It's pretty oem, and I don't think lairy brakes would suit it. RE: caliper colour?? - welshpug - 22-04-2014 zinc plated, usually silver, not shiny. RE: caliper colour?? - 1616six - 22-04-2014 (22-04-2014, 10:02 AM)Kezzieboy Wrote: On your car, silver. Lololol RE: caliper colour?? - Eeyore - 22-04-2014 yellow RE: caliper colour?? - Piggy - 22-04-2014 I would do them moonstone BUT cant find caliper paint in a similar colour RE: caliper colour?? - Curt - 22-04-2014 Just use normal Moonstone. RE: caliper colour?? - Piggy - 22-04-2014 Wont it just melt off?! RE: caliper colour?? - Curt - 22-04-2014 No. Might not last as long as VHT if you cook the brakes at every opportunity, but it's a road car. How many people use Hammerite without issue? RE: caliper colour?? - C.A.R. - 22-04-2014 As Curt says, it's a light car and while the brakes get hot they never get hot enough to melt paint off! On my old Cabriolet I had 206 GTi180 calipers and they were painted china blue RE: caliper colour?? - Piggy - 22-04-2014 Plaaaaaan!!! RE: caliper colour?? - ginge191 - 22-04-2014 Black. OEM+ all the way. Coloured calipers rarely work IMO and look tacky; very few cars can pull it off, moonstone definitely cant RE: caliper colour?? - Niall - 22-04-2014 [attachment=15676] Gold ftw! RE: caliper colour?? - Piggy - 22-04-2014 Ooo I used to paint them gold back in my Ford days... Not sure gold will go well with the moonstone. Im thinking either black yellow or moostone RE: caliper colour?? - Toms306 - 22-04-2014 Doing mine gold on the Moonstone, choose another colour Piggy. Done the ones on the China gold, they're not as big as Nialls though. RE: caliper colour?? - Curt - 22-04-2014 (22-04-2014, 06:56 PM)Piggy Wrote: Im thinking either black yellow or moostone ...? Gold is a factory colour along with silver, so it's pretty subtle. RE: caliper colour?? - Niall - 22-04-2014 RE: caliper colour?? - Piggy - 22-04-2014 haha....love it...well moostone, moonshine...manstain...we all know what it is!!! I think I will see how it all looks with new wheels then maybe ask for some photoshoppers if thats ok RE: caliper colour?? - C.A.R. - 23-04-2014 I've had quite a few colour variations over the years... Red on my black XS - Gold on me ol' China - China on my China Cab - I think they need to have a slight contrast to be honest. Definitely never paint drum brakes though, that's frowned upon RE: caliper colour?? - 7057sam - 23-04-2014 Yellow would be a totally epic win RE: caliper colour?? - Curt - 23-04-2014 Yellow is far too lairy for a subtle car, IMO. RE: caliper colour?? - Piggy - 23-04-2014 I would do similar colours on those cars shown....but moonstone has me stumped a little... anyone up for a photoshop?... (that aint my car...but best I could find) RE: caliper colour?? - John1.4 - 23-04-2014 i'm biased.. [attachment=15694] RE: caliper colour?? - Piggy - 23-04-2014 yeah but john, your car is silver! RE: caliper colour?? - John1.4 - 23-04-2014 it 'was' silver and i still think they'd look good, could do them red to match the block? RE: caliper colour?? - Piggy - 23-04-2014 Block will be blue whenever I next strip it out...dont like the red block in the bay. Anyone up for photoshopping that pic with some colours?? RE: caliper colour?? - John1.4 - 23-04-2014 pardon the crudeness, the comp upstairs with photoshop is trashed :/ Yellow [attachment=15707] red [attachment=15708] black [attachment=15709] blue [attachment=15710] |
