Woodruff key - aggyj17 - 08-04-2014

I have bought an 11mm bosch pump but it didn't come with the woodruff key. I have a couple of bosch pumps with them in but when I tried them the ones I have are slightly bigger. Is there a couple of sizes for bosch pumps or do i need to get one from a transit pump?

Have you a hybrid pump or a Transit pump?

RE: Woodruff key - aggyj17 - 08-04-2014

Hybrid pump. A 306 pump with t transit 11mm internals

RE: Woodruff key - aggyj17 - 09-04-2014

Surely someone knows??? Please help

RE: Woodruff key - zx_volcane - 09-04-2014

one from a standard 9mm pump should fit ok

RE: Woodruff key - aggyj17 - 09-04-2014

That's what I thought. I got 2 other bosch pumps here with the keys in but they are fatter than the 11mm I have Angry

best get the file out ...

RE: Woodruff key - aggyj17 - 09-04-2014

Looks that way lol. I'm just a bit dubious about it though as it's timing lol

RE: Woodruff key - Ruan - 09-04-2014

The adjustment on the slots is over 1.5 teeth onthe cambelt... Any adjustments you make on the woodruff key you'll easily be able to get out with the slots.

RE: Woodruff key - aggyj17 - 09-04-2014

Ok then cheers guys. But I suppose along as i get the woodruff key filled down to sit in the slot nice and snug it should be in time and locked in place anyway?

RE: Woodruff key - Ruan - 09-04-2014

The woodruff isn't for drive, its purely for timing purposes, once the pulley is on and done up, it'll stop it spinning at all.

Some pics here of the wood ruff key/pump/pulley, i tried two different keys and both off bosch pumps but to thick still Undecided

The Lucas pump woodruff key/keyway is smaller.
Don't if it's the same as that but worth a try if you have one about.

RE: Woodruff key - Danny2009 - 14-04-2014

This my old pump?

Think it used a Lucas woodruff key and pulley nut

It is your old one Danny, why did it use lucus Key? Surely all Bosch pumps should use Bosch Key? (bare with me I'm no Bosch expert lol)

RE: Woodruff key - aggyj17 - 14-04-2014

Yea that does seem wierd that it uses a lucas setup do you think that's why the pump only pulled 120bhp on the dyno??

RE: Woodruff key - Danny2009 - 14-04-2014

f*ck knows never known a Bosch to use a Lucas pulley nut either

RE: Woodruff key - DarkInferno - 14-04-2014

I have a Lucas woodruff key that's yours for postage... (if I can get it out of the shaft *grin*)
