Probably fella. Wanted a pipe like this for ages and nows the time to do it. Worst case is it gets cut off and another twin tip welded back on but for now why not have some fun [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] gotta try be different from the rest of the pug scene

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - dr_jekyll - 04-02-2016

Bit of a daft update but all to do with this build.
Went to sit in my bucket seat this morning and felt my arse sink lower than normal... prob should lay off the pies.
Any way ripped the seat out and surley enough ive ripped the cusion support with my arse
[Image: 4faf41078b22d8e5e345008ccea4d4ce.jpg]
Seems the rubber had persished and gone through so as a bit of a pikey fix ive just drift stitched it up and reinforced the other side.

Few fat kid test bounces make it seem like its alright but only time will tell really.

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - zx_volcane - 04-02-2016

apart from anything else, that extra bend upwards plus length of pipe is just more restriction in the system - yeah not much, but if you need a reason to bin it off...

Yet to be welded.
The tip is just my style, it may be a minor restriction, it may look gash to some of you but this is one of my many touches to make it stand out from the crowd.

It's an opinion.
This board lives on honesty, one of the few where that actually works.

For me, the exhaust in isolation is it's silly, with the rest of the car? Go for it!

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - Uberderv - 06-02-2016

Would you be fitting a flap to the top of the exhaust? That would look different Smile

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - dr_jekyll - 06-02-2016

Yeah more than likley just to stop rain entering. Will poss run without to start off with

Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - dr_jekyll - 12-02-2016

Began having little mock ups off the car to see what i was missing appears a few deliverys havnt arrived so got onto ebay about that.
This is what ive got for the intake so far, trying to keep it nice and simple
[Image: afa73a698bc55069c456ee7b38031891.jpg]
So from the turbo were going to a 90° 60mm stainless, upto a 3" reducer and then a 3" stainless. The 3" stainless is yet to have a 25mm barb welded on for the breather and as you can see ive left it all long ready to cut
[Image: ebe1f3c02ab34ac0c7c7a16dc74980a4.jpg]
This pipe should come out were the stock is so make for a nice intake route. The reason ive not choosen to come ou of the turbo straight onto a 90° silicone is that the pipe would then directly conflict with the egr above.

A some people may recall back when i got the turbo i was a little concerned about the amount of play. Decided its safer to rebuild it while its out and for the sake of £30 id be stupid not to.[Image: 29f1d9c34cee194691893cd0c8a98786.jpg] found a few comphensive guides on diy rebuilds including how to mark shiz up to keep it balanved when re-assembling. Should be undertaking this job next week as forgot to pick up the thread lock from home [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

Think ive also managed to pick up abit of a bargin this morning on ebay. Pair of genuine takata 4 point harness's for £70
[Image: d1d2d8fca59e115fa26b7f186434ed47.jpg][Image: a58e6ab2022f5256cd5aedcc0cea1c91.jpg][Image: 9cef9ac0c4e9af474e23cd7701dd296d.jpg]
As much as id love to half cage the car i just cant afford it before fcs. Safest way i can think to fit theseis also the simplist. Harness bar/pole welded across the rear of the car just behind the rear seats. Should allow the correct and safe harness line, keeps my rear seats opperational and makes the harness's removable (seatbelts to be kept)

*** also forgot to add that the exhaust has now been booked in for welding on the 18th of feb, this will compose of 90% of the exhaust and the stainless 25mm barb needed on the intake. The downpipe will be fabricatted once the turbo is on***

isn't the reason mostly as that would flow like complete crap?
long straight in/out of turbo is what is required (within reason) no bends, no reductions, no restrictions...

Looks cool though!

Not 100% may flow like crap but then so does that flexi pipe people use. Anything has to be better than stock at this point. Just cant see the stock pipe shifting more air as is required by the larger turbo.
This may end up completley failing as im relying on hopes and wishes for it to fit properly down the back

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - Jonny81191 - 12-02-2016

No hope in hell of that fitting unfortunately. It's tighter than you think down the back of the block.

Yeah? Bollocks Sad still will attempt it but guess i might just have to go plan b and mod the original. Gonna suck arse tho. Will be like sucking a golfball through a straw

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - Jonny81191 - 12-02-2016

That is about the best you'll get unfortunately, that was 2.75" flexi pipe with a reducer down past the manifold and a 90* onto the turbo. I extended the MAF sensor wiring across the bay.

Ahh sugar, cant run that flexi shiz as got a strutbrace directly in the way :/ what causes the pipes to hit then? Was so sure i could get this down there

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - Jonny81191 - 12-02-2016

You've got the manifolds, bulkhead crossmember, mater cylinder and servo. Oh, and fuel lines. And the cambelt covers. And those studs for the EGR gubbins (they'll need cutting off)

It's a bit of a ballache getting a decent intake on these.

Ahh bugger im seeing exactly what you mean now. Was so hooked up on getting that 3" along the top i completley missed out the servo etc :/
[Image: aac07c72f047e88307960ad0d0d1c58c.jpg]
That was the simple route i was hoping for but as you say it will conflict with the servo. Had the 3" down the back to know it fits. Just piping upto it looks like a major problem now Sad[Image: 87b8fc5ecb19ebb8d8ed5e01fcb4665c.jpg]
3" sits and just sorter floats between the mani's

Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - dr_jekyll - 12-02-2016

Ok so this is the 60mm down the back, hard to see [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]
Its crammed there but stock intake is still in there and nothing moved. Slides upto the servo aswell. 3" however i just dont think is gonna go that far upto the servo Sad will try but dont think ive a hope in hell.

Just ordered another stock pipe. Just gonna lop the bend off and fit a reducer for the back up plan. Know adam fields has got a stock pipe on his but not sure im liking the thought Sad will certianly make some aggressive induction noise but will be the setups greatest restriction

Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - dr_jekyll - 12-02-2016

Just been thinking about the whole pipe issue. If i know i can just fit the 60mm past the servo it could be worth rolling with. Untill i can get more 60mm tho will hae to botch the 3" in with what ive got.
So the squared is the off cut that i dont need. This can be used between the 60mm 90° ive got spare and the 3" reducer. This should slim the setup down enough to pass the servo. Obv not ideall for flow but atm i feel its a cheap neccassary evil that will still be better than the stock idea

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - Poodle - 13-02-2016

Best thing for flow would be a steady reduction in pipe size until it matches the intake diameter of the turbo, that might help you find a bit more room.

Intake is slowly turning into a horror story [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY] will a modified stock intake pose as a huge restriction?

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - Poodle - 13-02-2016

It is a total pig to route, but stick with it man, i'm sure you'll work something out. The stock intake will be a restriction, but not half as much as people seem to think - it's actually very well designed.

Stock will be my plan b.
Must be a better solution tho, might be a case of experiment once shes on. Theres only so much mocking and contemplating that can be done off the car

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - Frosty - 13-02-2016

This is 1 of the biggest issues with the 306s and the turbo down the back is sorting out the feed pipping

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - Uberderv - 13-02-2016

With all the EGR Gubbins out the way it must free up a fair bit of space for the intake pipework....

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - dr_jekyll - 13-02-2016

What are we refuring to as egr gubins as everythingis stripped from the back of my bay. Only evidence of the egr left is two plates

RE: Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - Uberderv - 13-02-2016

Oh reet, thought from the pics above it was all still fitted. The stock intake isn't too bad, there is a join where they have fitted the pipes inside each other the wrong way round in my opinion but besides that it might be worth using if space is really tight. I'd maybe wrap it in exhaust wrap.

Dr_Jekyll & Mr_Hyde Estate Project - dr_jekyll - 19-02-2016

So 30sec update while im on the toilet.
Exhaust has happened, as a temp solution its been married upto the stock down pipe. When the new turbos fitted this will obv be re-made.

Also fitted my takata's. These are show purpose only and are not used on the road so no fitting comments required

I know it's all in personal taste and all that, but what's the point of having harnesses you can't use?
