Tyre question. - Danny Wideboy - 07-04-2014

I have two brand new 185/ 55/ 15 Michellin Pilot Exalto's in the shed and need two new tyres fitting.
Will these be O.K to run on a 306? Dont have much cash at the moment so probably can only afford Ditchfinder Delux's brand new.
Cheers, Danny.

Yep, that's what Lasers came with as standard on earlier cars anyway.

Sweet.
Cheers Tom, repped for speedy answer.

What tyres are on the car currently and do you have ABS?

In themselves the 185/55's will be fine as said, but I don't know how well the ABS system will cope with the ~2% difference in tire circumference if you're running the original 195/55's on the other axle. I imagine that'll just about be within tolerance (as it obviously has to allow for the different between new and worn tires) but certainly there's a limit as to what it'll tolerate before logging a fault.

(it's about 1.5% difference to the increasingly commonly used 195/50's for the sake of completeness)

185's really?

if they really are pilot exaltos not PE2's then I would be wary about using them, as they will be bloody old.

195 50 15 on the rear. ABS light has been on for a while anyway but I have a plan for that.
