Tyre question. - Danny Wideboy - 07-04-2014 I have two brand new 185/ 55/ 15 Michellin Pilot Exalto's in the shed and need two new tyres fitting. Will these be O.K to run on a 306? Dont have much cash at the moment so probably can only afford Ditchfinder Delux's brand new. Cheers, Danny. RE: Tyre question. - Toms306 - 07-04-2014 Yep, that's what Lasers came with as standard on earlier cars anyway. RE: Tyre question. - Danny Wideboy - 07-04-2014 Sweet. Cheers Tom, repped for speedy answer. RE: Tyre question. - powerandtorque - 07-04-2014 What tyres are on the car currently and do you have ABS? In themselves the 185/55's will be fine as said, but I don't know how well the ABS system will cope with the ~2% difference in tire circumference if you're running the original 195/55's on the other axle. I imagine that'll just about be within tolerance (as it obviously has to allow for the different between new and worn tires) but certainly there's a limit as to what it'll tolerate before logging a fault. (it's about 1.5% difference to the increasingly commonly used 195/50's for the sake of completeness) RE: Tyre question. - tigerstyle - 07-04-2014 (07-04-2014, 04:17 PM)Toms306 Wrote: Yep, that's what Lasers came with as standard on earlier cars anyway. 185's really? RE: Tyre question. - welshpug - 07-04-2014 if they really are pilot exaltos not PE2's then I would be wary about using them, as they will be bloody old. Yup, didnt change to 195 till later phase 2. RE: Tyre question. - Danny Wideboy - 07-04-2014 195 50 15 on the rear. ABS light has been on for a while anyway but I have a plan for that. |
