GI: 58k D8A engine - Chris - 19-03-2012

As the title.

Gauging interest in this, need to check that its all running ok when I get it Wednesday.

Thinking around the £200 mark, complete bar pump and turbo?

I couldnt sell one for £40 a few months back. Ended up going to diggers for £30! Was a D8A, but it did have 140k on it.

Fecks sake Dan, i'd have snatched your arm off for that price, even with pallet delivery would have been half the price of eBay DHY's!

No offence, but its not worth anything like that anymore..

XUD's are generally worth more in scrap than what they sell for...I wouldnt expect to pay more than 40-50 these days for a fully working / complete XUD...

^^ As above, I got my 70k D8B lump for £60....

Also, people harping on about D8As being better, remember they're the OLDEST of the engines, their heads don't have the insert between the valves to stop them cracking, no anti friction coating on the piston skirts, no ceramic coating on the piston crowns to stop heat transfer to the oil...

Looks like it'll be kept in the shead till the dhy in the black DT goes pop, saying that its only on 74k.

If you want it gone, let me know... but I won't be offering £200! Smile
